I pulled up to the red stoplight and looked beside me at Victoria sitting there. Alright I thought to myself, I need to make a move, nothing big, but she also needs to know that I like her. With my sweaty palm I placed it ever so gently on her knee.

"So, uh, are you excited to go to the fair?" I said with a shaky voice.

She chuckled nervously before she spoke. "Yeah, I really want to get some cotton candy."

                                                                               ~~~~~~
"Is that Michael and Hannah over there?" Victoria questioned.
"Well they are the only two people in town with blue hair." I said with a soft laugh.  "Michael! Hannah!" I yelled motioning them to come over. Hannah and Michael were a perfect couple and always seemed to have a new hair color each week.
"Hey, what are you goobers doing here?" Hannah said managing a smile.
"Wait, are you on a date?" Michael said.
"well, uh, um." That's all that managed to come out of my mouth.
"Well I mean I guess it could count as one." Victoria said as I was standing there stunned. I couldn't believe it, she thought we were on a date!
"Y-you think were on a-a date? Like two people who like each other a lot?" I was getting more nervous by the second.
"Well, I mean, yeah." Victoria's face was growing redder and I was grinning like an idiot.
"We were just waiting on Meghan and Calum, if you want we could all hangout together." Michael said.
"Sure, we could play a game first though, if you guys want to." Hannah said.
"Sure thing honey, what do you want to play?" Michael said.
"I don't know, the squirt gun game looks fun. We could play on teams, Michael and me, you and Victoria." Hannah said.
We walked over to the squirt gun game and we paid to play. The buzzer sounded and I looked over and saw Michael sternly wrapping his arms around Hannah to guide her aim of the gun. I carefully wrapped my arms around Victoria reassuring myself that this was a good idea, I placed my hands on hers to guide her aim of the gun. I looked up and saw that Red and I were winning, I hoped we would so that I could get her a prize, I mean I should do that because I'm the guy. Michael always gets stuff for Hannah and Calum always surprises Meghan with things, so I should do the same. I need to start taking notes on how to make a girl happy and fall in love with you.
The buzzer sounded again and Red and I ended up winning the game. "And what shall the winners prize be?" Said the worker of the game.
"You can pick whatever you want Red." I said and winked at her hoping that I didn't look stupid.
"I'll take the big stuffed giraffe." Red said with a smile. I was glad to see her smile, I'd do anything to see it.
"Alrighty." Said the worker.
As we were walking away from the game I saw Meghan and Calum. They were a tall couple Meghan 6'0 and Calum 6'1, but they looked good together. It seemed like everyone in our group of friends were dating someone all except for Luke, who really didn't do much but play his xbox and PlayStation.
"Hey you two, we just got done playing a game, were you here for long?" Red said happy to see Meghan.
"No, we, uh, we've only been here for uh, a few minuets." Said Meghan.
"Okay, well let's go play some games then. I bet I'll beat all of you at ski ball!" Michael said.
                                                                             ~~~~~

The night went on and we played games and walked around till our feet hurt and ate till we couldn't eat anymore, I guess you could say it was a great first date until I realized that I'd have to go home to my dad. I wonder if I was going to face another beating when I got home or if I'd have to see my mom get beaten.

As we were walking to the car I grabbed Red's hand gently and I stopped us from walking. "I really, really like you Red." I was trying to be as confident as I could be.

"I really like you too Ash." She was smiling now.

Our faces grew closer and we closed our eyes and lightly touched our lips together in a kiss.
