"Hurmph!" Hanji said.
"Hurts?" Zachary asked.
Hanji nodded. Zachary muttered and continued to wash her skin.
"I can see why..." he said.
"Some of the gashes are indeed, infected."
Hanji grimaced as Zachary poked and prodded her wounds.
"It's going to hurt you, probably quite a bit, but they need to be thoroughly cleaned and then bandaged properly," Zachary said.
With that, he began to thoroughly, and a little roughly, wash the gashes on her back. Hanji whimpered and squirmed. This process was very painful and she wanted it to stop. Zachary ignored her. After working on her back for 20 minutes, Zachary had removed all the blood, done everything he could for the infected wounds and rinsed everything clean. He opened the medical kit and pulled out some weird colored salve. Hanji stood still feeling him apply it to her wounds, having to admit it did help dull the pain. Zachary wrapped a soft gauze around Hanji's torso, covering all the gashes on her back. Hanji was relieved that the gauze went high enough to cover her breasts.
"Now, let's take a look at that cut you have on your pretty face," Zachary said.
He grabbed a clip and pinned Hanji's hair back.
"It's not deep, so just a small, thin piece of gauze taped over it should do the trick," Zachary said.
He did just that after washing it and applying the salve. Zachary pulled the cloth from Hanji's mouth, leaving it hanging around her neck.
"Tell me how bad your leg is," he said.
"Well the bones are broken, so I'd say bad you moron," Hanji replied.
"Watch that mouth of yours girl," Zachary warned.
Hanji looked to the side ignoring him. Zachary knelt down and removed the makeshift splint from her leg. Hanji immediately, feeling a terrible pain in her leg, lifted it up. Zachary grabbed her ankle and pulled her leg to him. Hanji whimpered and stumbled.
"Better keep your balance," Zachary said.
"You fall and it's going to hurt, a lot."
Hanji did her best to steady herself. Zachary carefully examined where the break was; Hanji's shin/calf was bruised and a little swollen, the bone hadn't broken through the skin but you could definitely tell it was a bad break.
"Bear with me for a little," Zachary said.
He had the slightest sliver of sympathy for Hanji, but only due to her injuries. Zachary got up and rummaged through the cabinet. He came back with four metal rods, two large rolls of bandaging and some weird spongy looking material. Hanji watched as he first tightly wrapped from her foot up to just under her knee with one roll of bandaging, then as he placed the spongy material around her leg. Zachary set the metal rods on the front, sides and back of her leg using a little piece of medical tape to hold them in place. Hanji flinched as the second roll of bandaging was wrapped over everything, securing it in place.
"Stand on it," Zachary said.
Hanji looked at him.
"I need to see if it works," Zachary said.
Hanji slowly put her weight onto the leg. Surprisingly, it felt better. Of course, there was still quite a bit of pain since there were broken bones, but this splint was much better.
