Half Breed Of The Leaf [Naruto fanfiction]

Kakashi

It was another three days before Rita was released from the hospital. And by that time she was dying to get out and explore.

"Take is slow." One medic told her. "Don't do any heavy training. In fact, it'd be better not to do any for a few weeks."

Rita half-halfheartedly listened to the instructions, but once she was cleared for release and that door opened- she was gone.

"Rita!" Kurai yelped, catching up to her and grabbing her by the back of the shirt. "Didn't you hear what they said?!"

"Uh-huh...." She panted. "Dun care, kya."

"I swear you're as bad as me." He chuckled releasing her. "You really don't have time to explore. We have to meet up with Kakashi, remember?"

"I remember, kya." She sighed, then brightened. "But Lord Third said he was always late so I have a few minutes!"

And off she went again.

"Hime!" Kurai yelled after her.

"Sorry! Not sorry, kya!"

She led him through the village at top speed, doing her best to lose him.

She'd just looked over her shoulder to see if he was gone, when- BAM! She ran right into something and fell flat.

"Hey!"

Of course that something, turned out to be SOMEONE.

"Watch where you're go- oh hey! I haven't seen you before!"

Rita looked up to meet the sky blue eyes of the young boy she'd run into. He was maybe a little older than her, with spiky blonde hair and whisker marks on both sides of his face.

"S-sorry, kya..." She whispered shyly. " I was just playing with my nii-san.."

"S'ok." He grinned and helped her up. "My name's Naruto Uzumaki!"

"I-I'm Rita of the Tenkai pack...."

He titled his head. "Tenkai? Ohhhh! I get it! Like those wolf packs right?" He glanced at her ears and smiled. "I like your ears."

"O-oh. Thanks, kya. Like your whiskers..."

"Really?" He brightened. "Hey thanks! So did you just move here or something?"

"Um..."

"Rita!"

They both turned to see a very irritated Kurai stalking towards them. "Hime, I TOLD you-" He broke off when he saw the blonde. "Who's this?"

"Naruto Uzumaki." Rita reported. "I kinda ran into him, kya.'

The wolf snorted. "Gomen Naruto. I'm afraid my little sister isn't the brightest star in the sky."

"HEY!"

"Wait a minute..." Naruto looked from one to the other. "You two are related? Are you from that Tenkai pack thing?"

"Uh....yessssssssssssss....." Kurai glanced at Rita. "And... to be honest... we're not.... really related.. by blood... "

Rita bit her lip. She knew all to well she wasn't a full wolf or human. She knew she was something that wasn't considered normal. But she'd always thought of her pack as her real family. And after hearing Kurai admit they weren't related.... well it kind of stung.

"Um anyway..." Kurai shifted uncomfortably, noting his sister's silence. "We-we gotta go."

"Sure." Naruto said quickly. "Well- guess I'll see you guys around."
