I opened my eyes and slowly sat up in my bed. It's 9:30 am. I usually wake up and head off to the gym. Gotta keep my figure, ya know. On my way to the gym, I text my best friend Nia.
hey, you doing anything today?
She responds quickly.
not really. i have work but nothing after that. why, u wanna get something to eat after?
I reply.
sure why not. idk how late i'll be though.
Nia responds.
thats fine. text me when u are at our usual place.
I like her text message and go inside the gym. I do my usual stretches but I skipped a few because I felt lazy. I usually do the treadmill for a while, do some crunches, and then do some weights.
After the treadmill, I do 150 crunches and head over to the weights. Instead of going for the 20 lbs, I tried the 50. Please don't ask why. I felt that I could do it but boy, was I WAY off.
I only managed two sets and accidentally let go of the dumbells and one landed on my foot. I scream and everyone gathers around me. I fall over and grab my incredibly hurt foot. "Someone call 911!" someone yells. Thankfully just down the street, there was a hospital, so it only took a few minutes for the ambulance to arrive.
They rushed me into a room. After a minute or two, the doctor came in. I looked up to him and froze. He was so handsome. A perfectly sharp jawline, beautifully clear, pale skin, pretty dark brown eyes, and his parted dark-colored hair looked soft to the touch. Was he really a doctor?! There is no way.
"How does your foot feel?" His question snaps me back to reality. "I-It's still the same, throbbing." He nods. "Let me see it." He slowly removes my shoe as I wince in pain. "I'm sorry, am I making it worse?" Now I felt bad for opening my mouth. The look in his eyes...
"N-No it's okay...I just..." I didn't know what to say so I fell silent. He carefully kept sliding the shoe until it was completely off my foot. He took off my sock and examined my foot. "It doesn't look broken." I sigh a breath of relief. "Thank goodness." The doctor stands up.
"Let me get you some ice." He walks out and I'm finally able to breathe normally again. He looks like a dream. Then I suddenly realized, I won't be able to work today. I groan and text my boss.
"hey, im in the hospital. not gonna be able to work today."
She hates when people don't show up for work even if it's for legitimate reasons. But at this point, I don't know if I'm going to be able to even do a lap dance. Maybe if I could try to stand on it, I could still come to work for a little bit. I step on the floor with my good foot and slowly step down with my bad foot.
Again, another big mistake.
I fall straight down on the floor and just as I do, the doctor comes back in. He holds me and lifts me back up to the chair. "Are you alright?!" He asks, concerned. "What happened?" My cheeks flush. "I-I tried to see...if I could w-walk on it..." God, I was so embarrassed. He chuckles and shakes his head.
"Don't do that, okay? You'll make it worse." I nod. He places the bag of ice on my foot. I look at him again as he wraps a bandage so that the ice will stay on my foot. "Um.." He looks at me. "Hm?" "I'm sorry...but I never got your name." His mouth opens slightly agape.
"I'm sorry. Call me Doctor Kim." "Doctor Kim, I like it." He laughs. "Thank you, oh, and your name as well?" "Lana." He holds out his hand. "Pleasure to meet you, Lana." I shake his hand. It was warm and firm.
He lets go and pushes his hair back from his face, which practically kills me. "If I may ask," Doctor Kim starts. "How did you hurt your foot like this?" I scratch my head. "Let's just say...I carried more than I was capable of." "Ah, heavy weights?" He asks. I nod in response. "Make sure you're careful next time. Wouldn't want to see you hurt again." My heart started beating really loud. Not sure if he could hear it.
"Anyway, I hope you weren't doing any sort of dancing today because you'll have to stay off of your foot for a little while." I shake my head. There goes lap and pole dancing. "Do you do any dancing?" Doctor Kim asks. I choke up a little. I mean I do, but it's not THAT type of dancing.
"I do a little dancing." "Oh, that's cool! Do you dance as a hobby or career? What's your job?" Well, I obviously can't say that I'm a stripper in front of him. "I'm an..entertainer." "That's neat!" He smiles and my heart slowly starts melting. All of his teeth are visible when he gives me such a sweet smile. He hands me some crutches. "Here, you'll need these."
Crutches? Oh boy.
I take them from him and examine them. I've never been on crutches before. "Have you used crutches before?" I shake my head. I haven't broken a bone in my life so I've never tried them, not even when my friends had them. Dr. Kim takes the crutches from me. "Let me show you how to use them."
He goes around the room using the crutches and instructs me on how to use them. He then gives me the crutches and I attempt to use them as he taught me. He stays right next to me making sure that I don't fall. "There you go!" I smiled as he complimented me.
I finally made it back over to the chair and sat back down as my arms were tired. Dr. Kim smiles. "You got this, Lana. Just stay on these crutches for a while and try not to be on that foot. Other than that, you should be alright."
Suddenly, another doctor comes into the room and stands in the doorway. "Dr. Kim, we need you in the operating room." "I'm coming." The other doctor leaves as Dr. Kim turns to me. "Do you have someone that could take you home?" he asks. "I think so." I open my phone and text Nia.
"hey need a ride home and i've got news!"
"Alright, if you don't then let me know, okay?" I nod. Doctor Kim waves me off before exiting to his left and suddenly, I was alone again. My heart started racing. There was no actual way I was falling for this guy...right?
Finally Nia texts back.
"im omw. where r u?"
Oh yeah, I didn't tell her what happened.
"im at the hospital near the gym. i'll explain later."
She replies insanely fast.
"WTH IM OMW RN DON'T MOVE"
I roll my eyes and gather my things and crutch to the doorway of the hospital room. I looked around to see if I could find Dr. Kim but I couldn't. Oh well. I make my way over to the hospital entrance and I wait outside for Nia.
Didn't take Nia more than 5 minutes to get here. She pulls up so quickly when she sees me standing here waiting for her. She parks her car and rushes over to me.
"What the heck happened to you? Are you okay?" "Don't worry girl, I'm fine. I'll explain on the way." She helps me to her car and we drive back to my house. I'm explaining everything and Nia hangs onto every word. She's a sucker for romance.
"Okay, let me get this straight. You basically were close to breaking your foot because you thought you were strong enough for heavy weights at the gym and then after being rushed to the hospital, you fall head over heels with this doctor whom you've never seen nor met before." I nod. "That sounds about right."
"Give me details." I look down. "About my foot?" I ask. "No silly, the doctor. I wanna know what he looks like." "Well, he's tall, he has dark brown hair, gorgeous brown eyes, and the sharpest jawline I've ever seen." "Ooo." "And his voice is so deep and his smile...is so beautiful." Nia smiles.
"Girl, you gotta get his number. Try lifting the other heavyweights next time." She winks at me and I laugh. "No thanks. I'm not going back to that gym for a while. That was freaking embarrassing." Nia makes a left turn. "Well, now you know to take it easy on the weights." I nod.
We finally make it back to my house and Nia helps me out of the car and to my front door. "Are you sure you're gonna be okay?" "Yeah, I'll be fine. I just have to stay off it for a while." "Alright then, I'll get going." Nia gives me a big hug before heading back to work.
I get inside and go straight into my room. I set my crutches aside and lay on my bed. I grab a few pillows to give my foot something to rest on and fall asleep.

Fanfic"Baby." He seductively whispers in my ear again, like the tease he is. Felt a little weird being called that name by some random guy I didn't know, but I'm not complaining. "I'll come back again tomorrow." He intertwines our hands. "I-I never got yo...
