The Vine

•fast forward to July 15th•

So today I felt like doing something crazy on vine, something I've never done before. Ill think of more ideas later.

My birthday is in 3 days; July 18th and I'm turning 16🎉

Austin's tour starts next week. I'm just so proud of him. I can't believe he we t from YouTube, to touring with Taylor Swift, to his first full ep, to his very own tour. It's mind blowing how far he's come.

•2 hours later•

I finally figured out what I wanna do on vine. I asked my friends and family and they said they think I should. So I'm gonna tell you what I will do. I'm gonna post a video of me singing The Weight by Shawn Mendes. I don't know why cause its a 6 second video it's not like I'M going to become noticed. Like why would I!? But it's worth a shot to see if my current followers like it right? Right now I have 473. But half of them are all from my school.

Ok now my getting myself nervous. What if my whole school see's it and think I'm awful and makes fun of me? Whatever I'm gonna try it.

I press record.

"You told me you were happier with him, you want me to stay. And you tell me that you needed time but you, you pushed me away" I sang it really fast so it would fit in the 6 second video.

When it stopped recording I pressed post. I quickly turned my phone off and just sat on my bed shaking. My heart was pounding really fast.

It was getting late so I decided to go to bed. I plugged my phone in next to my bed and went to sleep. I didn't even go on vine and look at what people had to say about my video. I didn't wanna be sad all night. I closed my eyes and slowly fell asleep, with nothing but my video on my mind.

•next morning•

I slowly started to open my eyes and looked at my clock. 11:49. Not bad. I turned around and grabbed my phone of my floor. I went straight to vine. I couldn't believe what I saw.

I gained 70k followers over night. I was just at 473. What happened!?! I read everyone's comments. Most of them saying I was amazing. I was so happy. I scrolled through my followers and saw that Cameron Dallas followed me. Cool👍👌

I kept scrolling and then I saw someone's name that made me drop my phone and jaw. Shawn. Shawn freaking Mendes followed me. I just started crying. Balling actually. I had to catch my breathe then went to twitter. So many new followers on there too! All because one 6 second video!

I totally thought only my 473 followers were gonna see that to be honest. Never this. I went through my twitter notifications seeing Shawn followed me on there too. Oh my god what is life!? I cannot even breathe right now. This is the best day of my life.

Austin followed me too. Oh my god I must be dreaming like c'mon I'm still sleeping an this is all a dream. I pinched myself to see if I was dreaming or not. And it turns out, it wasn't a dream. It was just a dream come true.

I went into my dm's cause I had a few new ones. Most of them said 'congrats on becoming vine famous'. I wouldn't necessarily say 'famous' but I works.

I opened one dm up not really looking at who it was from. I read it and got totally confused. I looked at the name an saw it was from Austin carter mahone.

'Hey violet, Shawn told me to watch ur vine video. I saw it and I was totally amazed. U have an amazing voice. Really. So I talked to my tour managers and everything and asked them if u could come on your with us. They said yes. So violet, would u wanna come on tour with me? It started July 25th in San Antonio, Texas. I really hope u accept my offer cuz I am really looking up to seeing u'

That was what Austin said to me. He asked me to join HIM and SHAWN MENDES on tour. I didn't even have time to cry. I ran downstairs and showed it to my mom.

"What is that all about?" She asked.

Derp I was so out of focus I forgot to tell her what happened!

"Oh ya well you know how I posted that cover on vine!?" I asked

"Uh huhhhh..."

"Well Shawn saw it and told Austin to watch it and he did and wants me to go on tour with them." That's when I start crying.

"Vi calm down, don't cry." She told me

"Mom this is a crazy one in a life time opportunity and I really really REALLY wanna take it!" I said sobbing.

"Violet are you sure!?"

"MOM IM POSITIVE!"

"Ok, take it then. I'll go call your father." She said.

She didn't even seem happy for me. Like your daughter is going on tour with her favorites singers and all your gonna say is 'okay I'll go call your father'?

"Mom are you even happy for me!?" I asked her.

"Of course I'm happy for you honey! I'm so proud of you!"

"Thanks mom." I said.

I ended up calling my dad and he was more enthusiastic than my mom was. I kinda am a little surprised with that! I thought it would be the other way around.

I dmed Austin back and told him I was totally in for it. I knew this was going to be the best summer ever.

Yay! It's my birthday! I'm finally 16!!

All I did today was go to dinner with my family. In case you were wondering, I have been posting more covers ever since my first one and everyone seems to like them. I'm just so excited for this tour to start!

Yesterday I called Austin's tour manger and they scheduled me a flight to San Antonio to meet them on Monday. Today is Friday just so you know. I just don't know wht I'm going to do on my concert. I was supposed to be watching the show not be in it. I think what I might so is go to the concert and when it's my time to perform I'll just kinda go backstage and go on. Then I'll get off stage and go back to my seats in a hat so no one will recognize me. Not like anyone will they are all focused on Austin. Who wouldn't.
