The Baby Shower

"Hey Juggie," I heard from behind Jughead, next to me. I turned around and saw a girl with mid length curly hair, and hazel eyes, biting her lip as she waited for Jughead's response. I looked around me. V had noticed the situation, and was shocked at who was standing behind her brother. Jughead ripped the hands off of his face and was looking Veronica dead in the eyes.

"Valerie," she mouthed in his direction. The anger that was building in him was let loose at that point. He stood and turned around, looking her dead in the eyes.

"What do you want Val?" he asked, not wanting anything other than a basic response.

"Can't I just come see you? At your little party," she began, smirking slightly, "how you doing baby?". That last word fired me up as well, and everyone could see it. I stood up quickly, next to Jughead but facing the opposite way.

"I'm doing just fine," he replied coolly, turning me round to face Toni. Her face turned from confident, to confused, to annoyed real quick. And I loved it.

"What the hell are you doing with this slut?" Val yelled, pointing towards me, with Jughead's arm around my waist. "I don't even know who she is! Who the hell is she?"

"You know what Val, I don't have to explain myself to you. We broke up, now go," Jughead said calmly, glaring her in the face.

"And you don't have the right to call someone you don't know a slut, when you're the one coming in here, wrapping your hands around someone's face, who is apparently your ex-boyfriend, and acting like your still together. If anyone's the slut, it's you," I say, pride taking over my entire body, as I looked over towards Jughead and he looked down at me.

"You can't fucking talk to me like that?! Jughead say something!" Val yelled. He said nothing. "Veronica! Come on, girl you know me, please say something!"

"You know Val," V started, standing up, "I do know you. And I know that this is exactly the kind of thing you always do. You've been AWOL from everything for months, then suddenly you turn up acting like you own the place and nothing changed. Betty is my best friend, and will soon be having Jughead's baby. This shower is invitation only and no one invited you, because we thought you were dead. Now, take yourself, and that faux leather jacket of yours, and get out of our house," Veronica yelled at Val, right in front of her face by this point. Val looked like she could punch someone, probably me, but no one cared about what she wanted at this very point in time.

"Fuck you all," she said as she stormed out of the Pembrooke.

"Well that was eventful," I said, as Veronica, Jug and I relaxed for a moment in their kitchen.

"Well its not over!" Veronica says, excitement lighting up her face as she started to walk out of the kitchen. "Okay everyone! Time for the gender reveal!". The cheers that came from the other room.

"This is it," Jughead said, looking at me, as we took a deep breath and then went to the outside of the Pembrooke where everyone was waiting.

Veronica started counting as we stepped outside.
"One."
"Two."
"Three!" She finished and the box flew open from either side. I don't know what Jug and I were expecting, but the box flew open and blue balloons came out, flying upwards into the sky.

"We're having a boy!" I cried, turning towards Jug.

"A boy," Jug said breathlessly, holding my stomach, before pulling me into a kiss. "I can't believe it."

"Okay everyone, now lets all have some fun!" Veronica yelled over to the crowd.
