"Someone help-!"

Baldroy shot up from his bed, still half-caught in that awful nightmare; for a few seconds, the awful noises of the battlefield rang in his ears. Eventually, it turned into a soft whisper in his ears, then faded away completely.

The silence of the room - broken only by Finnian's soft snoring - rang in his ears. Chest heaving as he took in deep breaths, he scanned the room he was in, trying to get the trembling of his arms and legs under control.

One hand went up to the top of his head, anxiously searching for any sign of a bullet.

When he found none, he fell back onto his bed, bright blue eyes closing. He was fine, he was alive. He was in the manor, in a bed with soft white sheets, and no one was going to come after him.

He hadn't been in that war for five years, but the memories came back in dreams that seemed so realistic that they had to be reality.

And every time he managed to free himself from the paralysis of sleep and come back to reality, he would find himself in the strangest of places. One time he had found himself in Ciel's bed, the young earl's pistol pressed against his forehead as his mismatched eyes tried to focus on him.

The last time, he had been found huddled up next to the balcony railing, clutching his head while incoherent mutterings left his mouth.

"God. I've got to get some therapy or somethin'.." He muttered, one hand running through his short blond locks again. Rolling over, he checked the alarm clock, groaning at the time.

A quarter to three. In the morning. Three hours before anyone else - like Ciel - woke up. So he was alone.

"Unless Sebastian's still awake." There was someone he could talk to, a person who could offer him the comfort and solidity he needed. Someone who could possible stave off the nightmares for one night..

Baldroy stood up and made his way over to the doorway, trying not to wake Finnian. When the younger blond stirred and rolled over, he tensed. But Finnian was still asleep.
