It was around 4.00am when she heard knocking, no, not knocking but banging. Scared as she was, she still had to open up to reveal who the intruder was. She stealthily went to her small kitchen and brought forth a knife taking care not to stubble on anything, she walked slowly to the door.

"Who is it?" She asked fearfully.

"Its me Sonia, open up," John said amid hiccups. She abruptly opened the door letting her brother in. "What makes you come here this early? With whom did you leave mum?" She asked him shaking him wildly holding his shoulders. "Sonia, mum fell I'll. I had to take her to the hospital. They are asking for twenty thousand dollars to operate on her. She has been bleeding and it doesn't seem to stop. We need to do something before we loose our mum." He answered her as he bowed his head.

"Alright, I'll do something about it. Let me just bring you a few blankets so you can catch some sleep. I'll see you when the sun rises and if you don't find me here don't panic. I might step out for a little while." She said as she let her brother in. She went and sat on her bed holding her head as tears graced her face. She felt overwhelmed and for the first time in her life she lost the little hope she had been holding on to. She had no one to ask for such kind of money and if she did, how could she ever repay? At daybreak, she showered, blow dried her hair and left home after making some pancakes for her brother. She needed to talk to Mr. Eros and his wife Laura and see whether the could lend her something small.

On her way to the library she called Grace and filled her in on what was happening. She had cried When Grace told her that she had some saving and she would lend her the whole amount of Five thousand dollars. When she got to the library she was met by a beaming Mr. Eros seated by the big window, his favourite spot.

"Good morning my daughter," he asked out stretching his hand and Sonia smiled at him shaking his hand, "good morning Mr. Eros."

"You don't look too good. You have been crying?" He asked with a frown.

"N..no, I mean y..yes. Its my mum. She hospitalized with heavy bleeding and if I don't get fifteen thousand dollars today, she will die." She said as fresh tears rolled down her beautiful though pale face. Mr. Eros called his wife and told her about Mercy's mum and they therefore decided to give her the money. They didn't want to tell her they had given the money to her for free, they would wait for end month to tell her. They offered her the envelope and enveloped her in a group hug. They loved her for she did her work diligently and never had they heard a complain from their customers. All they got were praises for a job well done. They gave her a few days off to attend to her mum but never failed to state that they would surely miss her.

He came back and couldn't wait for evening to come so he can see her. He missed her terribly and unfortunately didn't know where she worked during the day. As he strode in that evening, he was met by another waitress but insisted on being served by...just then he realized that he didn't actually know her name. "Sonia?" The waitress asked. "Is she the waitress with the black hair? If so, yes. I want her to serve me." He answered.

"Sorry sir, Sonia didn't come in today. We don't know why but you could ask from her other boss Mr. Eros. She has a day shift there." She told him looking sorry. "Would you mind letting me have her number?" He insisted not losing hope. "She pulled her captain order and scribbled her number. " here. It would only be rude if I didn't give it to you. She missed you by the way." She said as she left to serve other customers.

"She missed you by the way." Those words kept ringing in his head making him feel warm. He tried calling her and the number kept sending him to voicemail. The following morning, he woke up with only one agenda. To find Sonia. He just had to find her. He asked his bodyguard if she received the flowers but told him that he always dropped them at her workplace, the bar. Truth was, the bodyguard was also paid by Keiran's dad to make sure those flowers never get to her. He didn't want shame in his house, of his sons marrying peasants. He also never used to follow her because if he did, Keiran could be knowing where she worked during the day.

He had to visit Mr. Eros and that is exactly what he did. When he parked his Mark X he rushed to the insides of the library, calling out her name. "Good morning Mr. Matthews. How may I help you!? Mr. Eros greeted him. He knew him, who wouldn't if their father owned almost the whole of New York?

"Hallo Sir! It has been long. You no longer visit us with your lovely wife. What wrong did we do?" He responded as he shook his hand. "You did nothing wrong my boy. We actually decided to let you be and enjoy your lives. We are old and we wouldn't want to keep bagging you with our baggage." He said grinning. "So, to what do I owe this visit? How may we help you? Do you intend on buying a few books or borrowing? We actually have a nice lady here who we call our daughter and she helps with arrangements. So, before you ask how we manage, you have your answer." He said smiling.

Did we just meet Keiran?
