Chapter 7

"Good evening Keiran." She greeted as she took their order.

He didn't respond. Instead, he ordered for the finest scotch whisky.

Through out the night, she watched them kiss, romance and she couldn't help but cry.

As she rushed to the washrooms for the tenth time to cry, Chase whom she thought was Keiran followed her there. He was already drunk and he forced a kiss on her. She resisted, pushing him back, she asked him;

"Why do you find pleasure in lying to me? Who's that girl? Why are you cheating on me Keiran?"

She was furious.

"you know what woman, you are so dump! Don't you ever dare question me about my private life."

"Why are you so mean Keiran? Is it because you have money? Money ain't everything you know?! "

" Who are you to lecture me about money you pauper?"

He gave her a resounding slap which send her reeling backwards.

"You slapped me...?"

"I will slap you again if you ask me silly questions woman!"

He left her there crying her eyes out.

Her shift was over and she boarded a bus to her house, swimming in a million thoughts. Did Keiran have to beat her up? She swore never to meet him, ever again.

The following day, she's busy at the Jacobs when Keiran strides in.

He is elegant as usual.

"Hey beautiful!"

"Don't tell me you are angry with me!"

"Why should I be happy with you when you slapped me last night? Please get out of here, I don't want trouble!"

Sonia was furious!

" What are you talking about my love, I wasn't in the club last night. Infact I'm just back from a business meeting as soon as I left your house."

" I'm fed up with your lies Keiran. Please leave me alone!

As much as Keiran tried to explain that he wasn't in the club, Sonia got more infuriated. She made it clear that she hated him and she wasn't gonna accept him back.

"Go and marry your rich mates Keiran. I'm a pauper you know!"

She went on her business as usual, as Keiran swore to deal with his jealous bro. He left a dejected man, swearing to himself that he was gonna win back her love.

She was his and his alone. Nobody was gonna snatch her from him, not even his wretched twin brother!

Chase sat on his favourite spot in the bar, a girl working on his insatiable manhood.

His crooked behaviour made it hard for him to keep girls.

He always found himself changing girls like clothes.

He was busy sipping on his whisky as the bitch worked on him tirelessly. That's why he loved stripper clubs.

He received a call from his men about the latest developments.

He learnt that Sonia had refused to listen to his brother, which meant he wasn't going to see her again. But he was still determined to win her back and see his bro suffer.

An idea popped up in his mind and he sprung up, startling the stripper whose mouth was sucking his dick like a lollipop.

He zipped up and made a call to one of his men who was busy getting information on John, Sonia's bro, who was taking care of their ailing mum.

"Hello, am I speaking to Sonia?"

"Yes. Sonia speaking, who are you?"

" I'm calling from St. Martin's hospital, your attention is needed here."

" What? Is my mum okay? Talk to me please."

" Not your mum, but your brother. He was involved in an accident and he's in a critical condition."

Sonia banged her phone on the wall and watched it break into pieces.

She picked her purse and explained the situation to Mr Jacob who gave her a few dollars to sorry herself out while on her way.

She didn't even remember calling her friend Grace to inform her of the predicament.

She rushed to the train station and she was lucky enough to get some standing space.

The journey to the hospital seemed long and when she finally arrived, she rushed to the doctor's office to seek for clarification.

She was led to her Bro's room and she couldn't help but scream when she saw John helplessly lying on the bed, with tubes all over his body.

He looked dead.

She was becoming hysterical.

Some nurses dragged her out and went ahead to soothe and comfort her in the nurses' room.

"How did he end up here? What happened to him? Will he survive?"

She asked several questions without getting answers.

A nurse who seemed kinder than the rest assured her everything was gonna be alright.

"He was brought here in an ambulance. They said that he was involved in a car accident after a guy who claimed to know her sister gave him a lift home. The car was destroyed beyond recognition But the driver body wasn't found, only your brother!"

Sonia was confused. Who could have done so?

The juggling between home to look after her mom and hospital to take care of her brother was taking a toll on her. She was exhausted and wasnt even having time to eat. She became frail and weak by the day. After a month her brother was moved to HDU and she was relieved to know that he was out of danger although not completely. She remembered she had her best friend Grace but she didn't have a phone. She had to use her mums for the time being.

"Hallo dear. How have you been?" She greeted. "Hey sweety. I wondered when you would call. I was told by the Eros's about your brother and I'm so sorry my dear. How is he and your mum doing?" She asked.

"Pulling through. Been up and down, I no longer know what day it is."

"Don't be too hard on yourself. What happened? Are you in a position to talk?"

"It was Keiran. He did this to my brother because I refused him." She said sobbing.

"I don't want to vouch for anyone, but I think Keiran is innocent in all this. My opinion is Chase is trying to sabotage you Sonia and you're too blind to see this. Keiran has been asking for you and I am almost giving him your home address. Please consider listening to him." Grace urged her.

"No Grace. I don't think I am ready to face him. After everything, I need I need some space. Plus, I must look for a job here. You know I can't leave mum alone after all this."

"Where is your brother admitted?" She asked and wrote down the name of the hospital. They bid each other farewell and went on with their day.
