Zelda stormed through the door, her face serious as ever. Then she saw Link and Impa at the far corner, and she was cutting Link's hair while combing it. He was definitely starting to look like his younger self already, and that made her forget all her worries and smile. She walked up to them and put one of her hands on Impa's shoulder and the other on Link's.

"Looking good, Link!" She said.

"I-uh- thanks?" Link said. Zelda smiled warmly and started talking with Impa. He noticed she had only had a bag in her hands, even though she had been gone for a good ten minutes. He figured she had her reasons, so he ignored it.

Maybe he should've asked about it.

The drive back home was silent, but not the awkward kind. They had never had any awkward silence. Maybe the day Zelda found him was a bit awkward, but never on the max level.

"How's the new hair? Feeling good?" Zelda asked, her award-winning smile plastered on her face. He didn't notice, she was glad.

"F-feels ni-nice! It's d-definitely less heavy-heavy," Link said.

"That's great! That concludes all our medical duties! So when your skin is all healed up, as well as you, we can start getting you back in shape! How's that sound?" Zelda said, the enthusiasm real.

"Yeah!" Link smiled.

They arrived home not soon after, and followed their usual procedure. Once they were inside, Zelda handed Link a cinnamon roll and sat him at the couch. Zelda made herself some hot chocolate and sat next to him, taking the other cinnamon roll from the bag.

They watched a few movies, ate some snacks, and were mostly chilling for the rest of the day. Zelda, however, was freaking out on the inside. She didn't let it show however. She didn't want to worry Link. Being next to him eased her a little, but deep inside she knew that he  was looking to finish the job. She knew there wasn't much time left, she knew she had to get  rid of his  threat someway.

"Hey, Zel," Link speaking so suddenly snapped her out of her thoughts, and she turned her head to him and smiled.

"Yes Link?"

"How... how are they?"

"Hm?"

"Your parents, how are they? I heard rumors a while back that something happened to them, but I didn't believe them, because I wanted to hear it from you."

Her smile faded. Of course he would have no idea. He's been out there for years, there was no way he would know. Maybe it's best he doesn't. No, he deserves to know. They were his parents for a while too.

"Well, Link, those rumors were right, something did happen to them," Zelda said.

Link gasped and he quickly covered his mouth. "Sorry, sorry! Please, continue."

"Good job on not stuttering," Zelda smiled slightly, Link returned it. The smile soon faded though. "They were on their way to a business trip with a business in Altea, but their plane crashed on landing, killing all people on board."

Link dropped his cinnamon roll, letting it fall to the floor. He stayed frozen for a bit, before coming to his senses and leaning down to pick it up.

"S-sorry, I-"

"It's okay, Link," Zelda took his hand, that was reaching for the cinnamon roll. Link looked at her and sat up straight. He noticed the tears brimming in Zelda's eyes, but she still kept her smile.

"Zelda..."

"All they wanted, was for you to be save. For you to have a home. For you to be happy. They wanted us, to be together, as a family again," Zelda said. She took in a sharp breath as the tears rolled. She looked back at Link, her eyes desperate and her smile faulting. "And you have that now! Right? You're save and you have a home. But, do you think we're a family?! Are-are you happy?! Please tell me, because I want them to know."

He had a feeling that it wasn't Zelda's parents, but Zelda herself. He decided to play along. He put one of his hands on her head and the other around her waist and pulled her in close so that her head could rest on his shoulder.

"Well Zelda, you can tell them that I am save, that I have the best home I could ever have, as well as the best family," he put his fingers on her chin and raised it to make her see him. He smiled. "And I am very, very happy right now."

Zelda smiled and buried her head on the crook of his neck.

"I'm sure they're glad," she whispered.

"I hope they are," Link said. He knew something was still bothering her, but he didn't want to push her. She was clearly tired, and he wanted her to rest.

Maybe he should've done something.
