Chapter 5: Ride Home

The sport season has started, our cheerleading team was divided into four team. A team for football, baseball, volleyball and basketball. I was assigned at the basketball team, which means I will be cheering for Josh's team. Sophie was assigned at the volleyball team so, she will be cheering for Desiree's team. While Regina is assigned at the football team where Geo is. At least all of us are cheering of someone we know.

The basketball team didn't take long to beat the opponent team. I guess our basketball team is really good and Josh really did well in the game.  Josh was different from the game, he was quite serious not that I could blame him. Winning was his priority no doubt about that and he really did used his body well. I think he will be the next captain in due time by the looks of it. I mean he was really exposed at the game for a freshmen.

After I finished what I needed to do at the game, I ready myself to go home. I got my phone from my pocket and there are no messages coming from Geo since this morning. Oh well! I think his busy, better not to disturb him.

Getting a cab is irritating, there's no cabs going this way! Fuck! I legs are tired, I don't plan on walking home. The venue of the game is at the opponent's university so it's a little far from home.

I stayed for another 15 minutes to push my luck on getting a cab, but unfortunately still no sign of any. If only my motorcycle is out at the garage I won't be waiting for a cab. While still waiting a familiar car is blowing it's horn. It's a Ford Mustang!

"Need a ride?" Josh shouted. Thank God!

"You are a life saver" I told him and ride at the shotgun "Thank you so much, you're my hero. I thought I'm walking home tonight" I added

"I'm honored to be your hero" he replied and asked my home address. "Damn, you plan to walk from here to your house?" he was shock when he saw where I live.

"Yeah, that's why you're my hero" I told him and I gleams a small smile coming from him "You saved my sorry legs" I added.

"Is it okay that I'll just get a quick takeout at McDonalds?" Josh ask me, I nod as my answer.

When we arrived at the drive thru, Josh ordered two big mac. At first I thought both of the big mac are his until he gave the other to me. Josh started to drive again; while on the road we ate the big mac and slurp the two large coke. On our trip to my house we talked about the game earlier and from the looks of him he did enjoy the game. Like who wouldn't? Right?

"This is not what I imagine for our first date, so I hope you won't be turn off" Josh said out on the blue without removing his eyes on the road. I just smile at him... at times like this I really don't know what to say. "But it will only happen if you will say yes at my proposal to you" he added and kept his eyes on the road.

The travel to my house nice Josh kept on talking about things that he love which football and I can see that he really is happy on that sport. Good for him!

The car stopped in front of our house. I had a good time with Josh, I hope this will happen again.

"Here we are" Josh said while he pulled the breaks and then he faced me. I automatically bit my lip with that, feeling that his going to ask something about last time at his place. And until now still don't know what to answer him. There was a moment of silence, little by little Josh's face is getting near until his face is only an inch from mine. Before I could react or do anything Josh's lips already landed to mine. Josh was gentle, he cupped my cheeks to deepen the kiss at that point there's a part of me recoiled from that kiss. "Alexis, I don't mean to—"
