It was a cold Monday morning in Australia. Cassandra, the older sister of the twins, was disturbed from her sleep by a crashing sound. She quickly sat straight, and wondered where the sound came from.
She decided to go outside of her room to check what's happening.
Cassandra was halfway down the stairs when she saw a broken vase on the floor. Shattered glass, and other things were messed on different parts of their house.
"Mom? Dad?" She calls.
No one answered her, but she heard someone crying in the dining room.
She went there, and saw her father sitting on the floor with his hands covering his face.
"Daddy. What's wrong? What happened?" She asked softly while bending down to his level. She don't know what else to do, since she's only 6 years old.
"Y-your.. mom. She l-left us." He said, and cried even harder.
"W-what?" Cass asks, while trying to hold back tears. Deep inside her, she wishes that his dad was just joking.
"She l-left. She brought Chloe with her."
After her dad said those words, her tears started to fall. Her mind is starting to absorb every bit of what's happening.
For a 6 year old, everything that's happening that morning is too much.
All she can do is to cry infront of his father.
On the other hand, Fred, their father is breaking inside. He was so devastated because his love left him and took one of his princesses.
He picked Cassandra up into his arms and carried her upstairs into the twins' room. A sleeping 9 months old baby lays there, snoring softly.
Claire you are so lucky, just sleeping peacefully and lost in your little dream land. Not knowing what's happening in reality. I promise that I will provide your needs, even though your mother left you. Fred said in his head.
After 13 years.
Claire's Point of View:
I'm at my bed room, crying my eyes out.
I was bullied at school.. Again.
The same incident happens most of the time because i don't have a mother. A mother who will kiss me before i go to school. A mother who will cure my wounds when i get hurt. A mother who will guide me while i'm growing up. I don't have one.
I was startled when the door barges open.
My bestfriend, Luke, scurried towards my bed.
"Oh my god, Clay! Are you crying?" He asked worriedly, and sat on the end of my bed.
"No. Uhm, i am just.. sweating through my eyes." I answered, whilst covering my face with a pillow.
"Don't lie to me. I know you're bullied again." He removed the pillow from my face.
I nodded. "Same shit different day."
He didn't respond though. Luke just pulled me up from bed, and dragged me outside of our house.
He's so sweet.
"Luke. Let go." I yelled at him while trying to escape from his grasp. "Where are we going?"
"To my friend's place. I know that you will love there." He said and smiled widely.
Hmm?
