It was 9 AM when he saw her. Lucy, he thought her name was. Lucy was about 9 years old, corn silk hair to the middle of her back, eyes as blue as the sea... And beautiful. Austin thought she was beautiful. In that moment, he decided he had to have this girl. Not good considering he was a senior in college. He knew this too, sometimes questioning his sanity. "What is wrong with you?" he would think. And "Why do you see anything with this child?" and "Normal people aren't cradle robbers." and the list goes on and on. But these questions couldn't keep him away. He'd follow her home and watch her play in the yard. He'd watch her at school and would get angry when she chased boys on the playground. Austin often had debates with himself over whether he should approach her or not though the ladder seemed unbearable. And so our story really begins.
