Another ditched meetup, another wave of 'regretful' apologies and sorry's. This was the go to routine everytime you arranged a meticulous meetup with Seungmin.
He'd always cancel last minute, leaving you off chewing on soggy cup noodles in the convenience store downtown.
Trailing off in the horizon, tears started to pool at your eyes, but you insisted that it was fine, he was busy with school afterall.
After a miserable trip back home, you quickly munched on a chocolate bar, sprawled over your tear stained bed. It was now 9, but you haven't had a single sns notification.
He must be studying for the quiz me's, I hope he's taking care of himself.
The both of you split ways when he entered into that prestigious school. The long deep conversations you once had turned into hollow-ephemeral exchanges. In the span of 3 years , you only had 5 successful 'friendly-dates' , as he liked to address it.
It didn't really help that you admired him. Who could resist his charms though?
A loud 'ding' quickly resonated through the room, eyes darting to your smartphone, the name 'dandy boy' flashing vibrantly through the screen.
With glinting eyes, you swiftly cupped your phone and swiped on the message.

Daunting colors resonated in your eyes, the weight in your chest seemingly heavier now. Right, bubbly-sunny girl Yoo Sun Hee, the love of Seungmin's life.
Typing with trembling fingers, you forced yourself to look positive in front of Seungmin, you loved him way too much to hurt him.

I guess my letter didn't make you happy the way her smile would.
Why were you giddy? Because she allowed you to court her.
My daydreams die in this moment, because I'm letting go of you now. I'll be the great wingman that you want me to be, I'll arrange your dates together, if that's the only time I get to spend with you, then so be it.
If she's your ball of happiness, then I'm backing out. You deserve everything in this savage universe. I hope she supplies you the love I wanted to give you.
