1~Dodged a Bullet

"No, no, Stiles wake up, please you gotta wake up" Derek yelled as he held Stiles in his arms

"Derek" Scott said in a calm voice, like he wasn't taking Stiles being shot a big deal "Come on" he said as he placed a hand on Derek's shoulder

"No" Derek said shaking Scott's hand off

"Derek we gott-" Jacob was cut off by Derek

"I'm not leaving, he's gonna be fine" he said as he held his hand to Stiles' heart, as soon as he did that black veins began traveling up his arm, along side pain

Derek jolted awake, and like he does almost every morning now a days; drowned in sweat, reliving that same moment over and over again when Stiles was shot. It's been 6 months now since that moment.

"Ugh" Derek muttered to himself as he wiped off the sweat from his face, he shook of the nightmare he just had and slipped out of bed and went over to Luca and picked him up now that he was awake "Good morning" Derek said putting a smile on

"Ood orning" Luca replied

"Morning how'd you sleep?" Melissa asked Derek as soon as he reached the kitchen

"It was good" Derek lied as he put his little brother in his high chair and gave him the scrambled eggs that Melissa just made

"Where is everyone?" Derek asked as he stuffed his mouth with pancakes

"Well Noah is at work, Scott is with Allison, and the rest are at the park down the street" Melissa explained "You should go, check up on them later"

30 minutes later
"I'm going, you sure your okay to watch him?" Derek asked Melissa

"Yes Derek I'm fine, now go" Melissa ushered him out the door

"Okay I'm going" Derek said as Melissa shut the door

It was a 5 minute walk to the park from the house and when he got there he saw Cora running across the bridge, and Thomas hanging out with a couple of his friends. He smiled at the sight, they looked happy, like they've put everything that happened a few months back behind them, I'm glad, they shouldn't have to remember that. Derek was pulled from his thoughts when someone spoke up;

"Hey babe" Derek turned around at that and smiled at the boy that said it

"Hi to you too" Derek replied with giving his boyfriend a quick hug, he pulled back and looked at the boy and smiled

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing" Derek reassured him "I'm just glad your okay"

"You had your nightmare again didn't you" he said

"Yeah"

"Listen I'm here okay, and I ain't going anywhere" he said as he took Derek's hands in his "I love you"

"I love you too Stiles"

6 months ago

"What's happening?" Derek asked, his voice had a hint of confusion along with horror as he looked at the black veins traveling up his arm

"You're taking his pain" Scott whispered "But that's not possible"

"Why isn't it possible?" Jacob asked

"Cause he's dead"

"What's the problem?" A doctor said as he walked beside the stretcher Stiles was on

"17 year old male, gunshot wound underneath the heart" another doctor said reading the chart as they pushed him into surgery

"How's the hell is he still alive?" A doctor said as they entered the elevator

"I'm sorry you're gonna have to wait here" a nurse said holding everyone back

"What happened? Where the hell have you all been?" Melissa's voice called from behind them

"Mom!!" Scott said as he embraced his mom in a hug "It's Stiles, he was shot"

"He was what!?" She exclaimed pulling back

Scott explained everything to Melissa as everyone just sat down, Derek was sitting with his body forward leaning his chin on his hands. The seat beside him was empty and then it was Thomas, Cora, and Jacob was holding Luca on his chest while he slept.

It had been three hours now and still no update on Stiles, all they knew was that he was taken into surgery, and that's it.

"Derek, honey" Melissa said in a soothing voice as she got down to Derek's eye level "Maybe you should go home, get some sleep, we'll phone when we get news" she indicated to her and Noah who arrived not too long ago

"I'm not leaving him" Derek said plainly, Jacob had taken the younger ones home about an hour ago since it was 2am and now it was only Derek, Melissa, Noah and Scott.

"Okay" she said sitting in the seat beside him as they all stayed silent

Another 2 hours later and a doctor who was with Stiles earlier exited an elevator.

"Mieczyslaw Stilinski family?" He asked coming over to them, they all instantly stood up

"How's my son?" Noah asked straight away

"He's in better condition than other patients who come in with a bullet that dodged their heart" the doctor stated "I'm glad to tell you that he's gonna be just fine, just a few months of recovery"

And that's how that day went, the day when Derek found out he did not lose the boy he loves, and he will soon get to tell him those three words.
