'Street 27, House no.128 '. I read the location while starting the car.
Okay, where the heck it is.
The air was chilly despite the season and the moon was in its full form tonight. I set the location on my phone and directed my way towards it.
So much for a stranger huh.
Whatever, I thought just wanted to get over with this, quickly I may add. The humming of insects and rustling of leaves along with flickering of streetlights, made me tremble, It was disturbingly silent tonight and kind of spooky I may add, but what was I even anticipating at this time.
People wish to sleep at night unlike you, mocked my conscience.
It was eerily quiet and my thoughts weren't helping too in my case. Shaking my head I decided to turn the radio on to calm myself. 'Demons by Imagine Dragons' started playing and I sang along and drove swiftly.
Fifteen minutes later I turned to an unfamiliar street and parked my car at one of the corners. The music can be heard from a distance, it was that loud, I wondered why the neighbors didn't complain or the police didn't show up until now but that is clearly not my business. I looked at my watch as it showed 11:37 now.
I got out of my car and made my way to the party.
The scrubbing sound of my flats against the pavement echoed, as I made my way towards the house.
As I approached the house and took in the unfamiliar scene, nervousness started building up in my chest and as a result, I took a few steps back. Do you really want to do this, I thought again.
To heck with it.
And with that thought, I took my phone out and dialed the unknown number again, and started looking around for any person or the phone even, ignoring the stares of everyone around.
After a million calls and no clue about the person, I made my way outside, disappointed at my failed attempt.
I knew this was a stupid Idea but I couldn't just shrug off the feeling of someone being hurt and I was a witness to it, partially even as in my case.
Taking at last shot at this I dialed once again and this time I heard some vibrations from somewhere, I followed it until it I heard the familiar ringtone of I phone. It was somewhere near a pole beside a bush just a few meters away from the party house.
I saw some light emerging from the side and looked around only to find a person lying in a prone position and a phone a few meters away from him.
Shit.
There was a huge gash in his head and blood was pouring out of it. I quickly crouched down on my knees and rolled him from his position so that I could see his injury. Resting my back against the pole, I lifted his head up and rested it on my lap. I examined the wound and rolled the sleeves of my hoodie up to my palm and rested it gently against the wound so that the bleeding would stop.
I picked the phone laying a few meters away in the ground and switched it on. I breathed in relief as it had no password protection.
Checking the call logs I saw my number in the recent as well as some other unknown names too.
I did it.
The detective shows I spent hours on, clearly paid today.
I almost danced at my little success totally forgetting about the person below me.
Oh shit.
I quickly called the most recent contact named Devin from the phone and waited for him to answer.
"What the fuck dude, where are you?" answered a very angry voice.
"Hey, your friend here is lying unconscious can you please come to the backside of the house "
"Shit, I'm coming right away" with that he cut the call and I waited for his arrival.
Looking down on my lap I cleaned the dirt from his face from my other sleeve and took in the features of the person lying unconscious in my lap, black as coal hair that reached his ears and tan complexion greeted me and I thought about how this guy even know me.
I heard some footsteps approaching my side and I looked up to see a hooded figure glancing in my direction.
I waved at him in confirmation and striking blue eyes and a pale face greeted me in the moonlight.
"Devin?" My question lingered in the air as he nodded in response.
"Shit, how did it happen?" he asked while crouching down to his knees as he took in the damage.
"I don't know, but I need A first aid box, now" I declared.
He quickly ran away somewhere, probably in the search of a first aid kit.
A few minutes later he arrived and I started cleaning the wound gently and bandaged it.
"He does not need stitches but make sure he sees a doctor," I said.
"Thank you so much, " he said with a smile on his face.
"Its alright" I smiled in response.
"I'll get the truck, will you please be able to hold him for a while?" I nodded my head and with that, he went to fetch their ride.
A minute later we both took him towards the back seat of a black Chevy.
"So where do you live, shall I drop you off somewhere ?" he asked.
"No, My car is just the corner," I replied.
"You don't live here? " he asked now confused as he took in my appearance.
Yeah who come to party in a hoodie and flats.
"Nope, " I said popping the p.
"But thank you so much again and sorry for the trouble, we've caused you, " he said with gratitude laced in his voice.
"You're welcome, "I said with a smile.
"Wait I never got your name, sorry ?"
"Amara Wilson" His eyes widened when he heard my name, did he knew me too?.
"Thanks, Amara I'll let Noah know who saved him"
Oh, so his name is Noah.
"Make sure he rests well," I said and with that, I made my way towards my car.
What an eventful night.
