Noah's POV
"Hello," a soft voice breathed.
Pause.
Shit shit shit. I internally cursed myself. What would I even say to her? Hello, I'm the one who drunk called you, but thank you for taking care of me and sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Really even Devon could do better than this. I cringed at the thought.
Or should I say hey I'm so sorry for the problem I caused you yesterday will you please forgive me, I think this is better, much better.
"Hello" the voice chimed again.
Great, first you call her and then you make her wait.
"He-eey" I stammered.
"Noah, right?"
Oh, she knows me, she would be probably thinking what a stupid freak I was to drunk call her. Although I shuddered at the thought of her thinking so low of me but I did drunk call her and God knows what my mouth has spattered, to embarrass me again. I really hope she is not thinking that.
I was so lost in my thoughts that I completely ignored her, again. I bet she wants to punch me right now. I heard her say something to which I didn't get as I was busy with my head.
"Come again," I asked as I didn't really hear what she said.
"How's your head?"
Did she really ask that?
I think I've hit my head pretty hard.
" You're spacing out again"
"Look I--"shit, umm what was I about to say to her.
"My-y head is fine" I managed to speak.
"Oh, umm that's good-- that's good to know "
Knowing that she isn't angry at me, I mustered some courage and said. "I am sorry. I really am, I shouldn't have drunk dialed you, I'm really sorry for troubling you, but then again thank you so much so helping me ."
She won't scream at me, right? I think that was a pretty good apology from my side. FUCK, I 'm literally sweating, never in my 16 years of life, I've been so anxious like I'm right now.
Like your are over exaggerating right now. My subconscious chimed.
"It's alright, Noah " she spoke softly.
"umm, can I ask you something ?" I said. I really needed to know how my drunken self-has presented itself in front of her.
"Sure "
"I really hope I didn't say something umm, stupid in front of you, did i ?"
"uhh.. does it matter, but I assure you that you didn't say anything stupid". she said.
fewww I breathed out. The dread that filled my brain with unwanted thoughts now slowly dissipated with relief.
"How did you find me?"I asked, there was pause which meant that she was clearly debating on telling me or not.
"I really didn't know where were you, but I knew you were hurt, so I took my chances and went to a party and there I found you."
"Oh, thank you for being my knight in shining armor. " I joked but it was true If she didn't have come god knows what would have happened to me.
I heard a chuckle from the other side and I smiled.
"yeah, its alright you know I couldn't sleep because the thought of some being hurt, it didn't settle my thoughts but then again I'm glad I helped you and you are alright."
Warmth filled my chest as I heard her opening up to me.
Is'nt she lovely I thought.
" Thank you so much, Amara, again for putting up with me and helping me ."
"Oh my god, it's really alright, stop thanking me ------- she said.
umm but do I know you, Noah ?" she added.
"we are in the same school and the same grade " I started.
"Oh " came here response shock evident in her voice.
"Yeah, you know what, I think you deserve more than a thank you for helping me, let me treat you ?" I said.
Smooth, Noah, really smooth. I thought and a smug grin appeared in my face.
Wait for her rejection, my subconscious added, and with that ladies and gentlemen my grin disappeared and a full grown frown made an appearance.
"Umm I really don't know " came her reply.
"Come on Amara, don't hesitate just this time please come. You can decide the place, time too it's my treat " I pleaded with her.
"Umm I will think about it, " she said, hesitance laced in her tone.
"I know its awkward with a stranger and thank god my mom taught me all the rules of stranger danger, but I assure you its just a mere treat, besides I would love to make you an acquaintance ."
"So persistent are we ? " she mocked me, her playful side coming. this girl is getting very interesting every second passing.
"Yeah, so will you come ---- please say yes" I pleaded with her again.
"I'll text you the details," she said.
If my body didn't hurt like a bitch I would have done a nice victory dance right now.
Yeah, kidding.
"I'll be waiting," I said it in a sing-song voice and I swear I heard a chuckle come from the other side. With that, I ended the call and I laid back in the bed, cocooning myself in the pink blankets, Devon has arranged for me.
That motherfucker.
Where is he I thought and exactly then the door opened revealing plates full of heavenly goodness, My stomach growled in response, I could really kiss the person behind the plates.
Yeah, I was that hungry.
"Hungry?" Devon asked when he entered the room. I got up and snatched the plates from him and began eating.
" I love you, you know that right ?" I said. Devon rolled his eyes at me.
That fucker knows me well.
"How did it go, the phone call, "
"Better than I even thought, Oh by the way we are meeting soon, " I said while grinning at him.
He smiles back at me. "She's really nice you know, " he said while getting up.
"I know right, now go away I have some planning to do in my dreams, " I said as I laid back in the bed.
"Someone has a crush, " he said in a sing-song voice.
I flipped him the bird as he laughed and left the room.
That girl is sure something. I thought as I close my eyes feeling much better, my headache now completely gone and I felt calm.
With a knowing smile, I drifted off to sleep with a thought of a certain brown haired girl.
