The second round was close to beginning, and we still had to sign the forms that psycho woman Anko had given us. I was reading over the paper, examining how bluntly the Leaf put it that they were not responsible if any of us were injured or killed. How convenient for them. I leaned down and used Fang as a table to sign where the X was. Standing up, I stretched and fixed my weapons pouch before checking to see if the kunias on my thighs, bombs on my hips, and the senbon needles in my hair were all in place correctly.
Afterwards, I looked at Rukia, who smirked with her huge ass sword and fan on her back, then to Atsuko, who grinned evilly with his samurai puppet clingy to his back. All of us were highly skilled in a variety of malicious weapons, these people have no idea who they were up against!
Mother wanted her top Team well prepared for any fight so, as you could guess, we had constant, brutal jutsu training; everything from ninjutsu to kekki genkies to simple weapons like the kunia, and then there was chakra control. It was beyond unfair and pain staking. We all hated it but none of us dared to argue with her.
I popped my nuckles and shoved our heaven scroll in-between the blades of my katanas to keep it safe against me. We walked to the gates and rushed in as soon as they opened. "Atsuko, take Fang and scout the perimeter of the fence, they may have placed spares around it. Do not lose our sent." I whispered. Atsuko nodded and jumped ahead with Fang, who returned less then ten minutes later to guide us to Atsuko.
"Remember, don't show your full strength until the preliminaries. They don't need to know how we fight, or our weak points." I stated as I took the Earth scroll and put it beside the Heaven scroll.
"Right." My teammates said in unison. We began following a trail through the forest. Rukia kept her eyes out for any poisonous plants, since she was our medical ninja in training she was entrusted in finding the things that would kill us. Great idea mom, let the crazy one be in charge of keeping us from ingesting some poisonous plant!
So far so good, we haven't had to fight so we took to the trees while Atsuko and Fang held themselves on the ground to scout ahead. We were skilled but many people out here have already taken this test before, so we couldn't let our haired down.
"Kumiko-chan we've smelt three enemies ahead. Commence battle or change route?" Atsuko asks from below.
"Can you tell what land they're from?" I ask as I stop on a branch with Rukia beside me.
"No, Rukia can you use you kekki genkie? "
"Hell yeah I can! Watch me work my magic! " she said as she nelt down on the branch shutting then reopening her now blazing solid golden eyes with there black slits,"mmmmeow, we've got sound ninjas on our hands. Can we kill them?!"
"No Rukia. " I managed between soft laughter. "Keep straight. If they attack then kill them. Try to hold back though you know how strong our chakra levels are. On that note masks your chakras with weak ones. That goes for you too Fang." The ninken growled his response as we all masked our own chakras before heading forward. Man I really love that Rukia's kekki genkia gives her feline characteristics. It is very helpful.
Within five meters of passing the sound nins, a kunia hit the tree in front of my face making me glare down.
"Look here, two pretty girls and two mutts. Ohh and they have their scrolls! Let's kill em!" A taller sound nin said, he was lanky and had a thin face. The other two, a boy about my height with spikey black hair and piercing blue eyes and a girl with long pink hair and an anorexic models body, laughed and pulled out kunias. They hit Rukia right above her heart causing her to fall from the tree and land on the ground.
The leader threw three poisonous miniseries straight at Atsuko and Fang, hitting their targets. A growl escaped my lips as rage built in side. 'Let me out kid! Let me kill them!' Kōri screamed in my head. 'Fine Kōri, I will but you return when I say.' 'Deal! Awe yeah baby I'm killing me some dirty humans!' He screamed as he ripped into my body causing my red eyes to glent with blood lust and markings cover me body.
"Die!!" He screamed as I watched it all unfold before me. Lunging at the pink haired girl he slit her throat with my poisonous kunia before kicking her into a near by tree which broke in half on impact. Next was blue eyes, who decided it was smart to lunge at Kōri. The boy's kunia merely cut my arm but my dear blood thirsty demon had a much better attack,"Horror Gengutsu: art of blood - hell's furry!" He screamed making rapid hand signs and sending the boy into a grusome fantasy. I watched as he fell to the ground screaming in agony. 'End this game, Kōri.' I whispered to him as I envloped my arms around his waist smirking,'kill their squad leader. '
With that permission a dangerous smirk crossed his lips as he jumped at the ninja,who attempted to scream his bantchy scream, but was interrupted by Kōri's hand signs,"Blood wolf mercenary! " A large wolf that appeared to be strictly blood formed in front of the boy , growling meliciously at him before striking him and completely tearing him apart. 'It's time to give me my body my dear blood demon. '
He nodded and gave me control. I rushed to my commarads, no my friends, And frantically tried to figure out how to save them. "Rukia... Atsuko... Fang.. please..Don't die. You're my only friends...." suddenly a hand pressed against my shoulder. I looked up to see the blond hair girl with four pony tails....buns...whatever the hell they are they're cute. "Please... help me..." bloody tears ran down my face, a side affect from Kōri taking over is blood tears . "Please I beg of you. I'll give you our scrolls just...please save them...." the tears came like a flood as her eyes softened with sympathy.
"Hurry up Temari. Help her. " I looked to the owner of the voice. Gaara of the sand. Temari began working on my friends,"Keep your scrolls. We have ours already."
"Hey What's your name? I'm kankuro. " cat-mummy carrying -boy asked.
"Hatake...Kumiko of the Snow." I finally stated the title my village had given me. "I will repay you all for saving my only friends. My mother is Hokage of the Snow so I'm sure I could pull a few strings in order to repay for this triple life debt." I said softly, staring at my friends.
"Kumiko, " Temari started, "It's absolutely no problem. Please calm down. There's no debt you need to pay. Just try not to get killed,Okay? I for one particularly like you. "
"Hey!!" Kankuro whinned, "I like her! She's cute! "
I blushed furiously and watched as my teammates finally sat up, "no moving!" I barked and quietly did a summoning jutsu.
Two very large wolves, a male the color of blood with black eyes and a female the color of freshly fallen snow, looked at me,"Milady." They said in unison.
"Oonau, Yuki, I need your help. Can you carry us to the tower?"
"Hai Milady." They both responded and lowered down. Kankuro helped Atsuko and Fang on to Oonau while Temari and I got Rukia on Yuki before I joined her.
"Thank again, sand nins. I owe you three debts and I keep to them. If you need me you know where to find me. " I nodded to them before we set of for the tower. Rukia leaned back against me and settled in as we made our way to the Tower.
