Blaire's POV
I returned home from dropping Lisa off at around 10p.m. I had had to order her some dinner, run her a bath and help her into bed since her leg was temporarily dysfunctional.
"How is she? Is it serious?" Daddy asked as I walked into the first floor living room.
"No, not really. We put some ice on it. I think by tomorrow the swelling will have gone down," I answered.
I put my handbag on the couch together with my car keys and walked to the kitchen to make myself a cup of coffee. I made terrible coffee actually, but I didn't have the heart to wake up our housekeeper so late.
"About earlier," my dad began uncertainly and I sighed. I just didn't have the energy.
"Not now daddy please," I said, bringing my fingertips to my neck to give myself a self-massage. It had been a stressful day and every part of my body was very tense.
"Right. Ok, later then."
I took my coffee and kissed him good night before taking my Chanel hand bag and heading upstairs. My bedroom was completely white; it was my favourite colour, always had been. It always drove my babysitter crazy in the days I couldn't go an hour without messing with paints.
The main component of my room was my California king size bed. It had a white bedcover with pink polka dots and a dozen throw pillows. At the foot of the bed was a rug with a scene from Frozen. It was one of the prettiest things I had ever seen.
Beside the bed were arched satin nickel bedside lamps on bedside stools. Near the window was a white low armchair that I absolutely adored. I sat there when I came home early sometimes; it was a great place to watch sunsets.
I ran the bath as I sat down to drink my coffee and check my emails. Two were assignments from my professors and three were work related. Nothing was too urgent.
I had asked for the assignments in advance so I could start working on them months before they were due in case by the time they were wanted I would be too busy at Carter & Sons to do them proper justice.
I was doing my Masters degree whilst working at Carter & Sons. It might be shocking to many people why I needed to work at someone else's company whilst my daddy owned one of the richest companies in North America but I just wanted to try to make it on my own without having anything spoonfed to me.
I took a long bath, enjoying the way the water and the jets were working every muscle and smoothing all the tension away. I was so reluctant to get out that when I finally forced myself to do it, I was wrinkled. But it was all worth it, I felt better afterwards and when I hit the pillow I was out like a light.

At exactly 7.00 the next morning, I left for work. I got into the red Lamborghini Centenario Roadster, daddy had bought it for my 21st birthday and I had nearly got a heart attack when Kevin, my workmate told me it's price.
$2.27 Million.
Seriously? Over a car? Sure we were rich, but it wasn't necessary.
It was totally worth it though, I found out when I first drove it even though I wasn't a fan of small cars.
I arrived at Carter & Sons headquarters with an hour to spare. Carter & Sons was mostly a family business, with 75% of the executive positions being occupied by the family. Talk about nepotism. I don't know if they would have taken me without the particular weight of my surname.
The building was mostly empty as most people had not checked in, except Berger of course, even I had failed to rival her in that department. It's like she slept at the office, seriously every time I was there she was also there.
