Chapter 8

Sam's POV

Sam was still sitting beside of Gabe in the hospital, all he wanted was to be home right now, he didn't want to be in D.C. right now he just wanted to have never gone on the trip in the first place, maybe if they had never gone on the trip something like this would have never happened... but no it had to happen because that was just Sam's luck... He knew that at some point he was going to have to call Cas and Dean, but at the moment he could barely stand to just sit there much less talk to anyone about what happened.

Sam finally got up the strength to pick up the phone and call his brother, it was likely that he was with Cas so he'd only have to talk to one person...

The phone rang, once, twice, three times, "Hello?" Dean's voice came out of the other end, "Hi Dean, is Cas with you?" He knew that he should act at least a little upbeat for Dean's sake but he couldn't bring himself to do so while Gabe was in the hospital. "No, why?" crap, well maybe he could get Dean to talk to Cas instead. "Well um," he sighed, there was no easy way to say this, "Gabe is in a coma, his roommate beat the crap out of him, and we need you guys to come down here..." he trailed off waiting for a reaction, the other end of the line was silent for a moment before he almost yelled, "I swear I am going to teach that kid how to fight!!" Sam sighed gratefully, he wasn't mad, that was good, "How soon can you be here?" Dean considered this for a moment, "Well first I have to talk to Cas, and I think I'm just gonna arrange a flight down there it will be easier." Sam nodded to himself before saying, "Ok well, see you tomorrow?" "Yep!" Dean replied before hanging up.

Sam glanced at Gabe's sleeping figure and felt a little better knowing that their brothers would be here soon.

Gabriel's POV

Gabe looked up to see Sam standing in front of him smiling, "hey Samsquatch! what's the matter?" Sam smiled sadly, "wake up Gabe, please for me?" Gabe was confused by this, "What do you mean Sammy? I am awake!" Sam shook his head a little looking down, and furrowed his brows, "Your in a coma Gabe, Raphael, he beat you bad." Gabe didn't have any idea what he was talking about, "Sammy what are you talking about?! That never happened! I'm awake and I'm right here!" Sam just shook his head again and leaned down placing a soft kiss to his lips, "I'm so sorry, we shouldn't have come.... I knew something bad was gonna happen." Gabe was so confused, "What do you mean Samwitch, I'm fiine!" He finally looked down at himself and his surroundings, he was wearing a hospital gown but he wasn't in a hospital, he was in a fancy resort, it seemed. Maybe he was dreaming? He tried to wake himself up but only succeeded in blacking out. "Gabe? Gabe! please Gabriel, please wake up?" Gabe heard a voice in his head that wasn't Sammy's or his own, it was so familiar... "Cas?..." He tried to open his eyes but when he did everything was black, he couldn't see a thing... maybe he was dreaming again? "Yes, Gabriel it's me thank god your awake!" "Cas what's wrong with my eyes?" he heard the confusion and worry in Cas' voice when he replied, "What do you mean?" "I mean I can't frieking see!" "Tessa!" Cas yelled, he heard light fast footsteps, then a feminine voice, "What is it Cas?" "He says he can't see!" Gabe heard soft laughter, wait! what the fuck?! was she laughing at him being blind?!" "Excuse me but I don't think it's very funny! Could you please explain to me what's going on?!" The nurse sounded a little bit stunned at my sudden outburst, "The blindness should go away in a few days, it's part of the affects of the concussion and the coma. I didn't mean to offend you sorry." Gabe relaxed a bit, ok only a few days. "That's ok, thank you."

Gabe heard the familiar footsteps of someone he loved, "Hi Samsquatch, how're you?" he heard a sigh of relief and footsteps heading toward the bedside. "I'm fine Gabriel, how are you feeling?" His voice was laced with worry, "I'm fine baby, only a little blind." I said smirking waiting for the reaction that came almost immediately, "WHAT?! YOUR FUCKING BLIND?!! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!!!" Sam roared and Gabe burst out laughing, "WHATS SO FUNNY?!" He was still yelling but his voice softened a bit in confusion. "It's only temporary Sammy, only for a few days, don't get your panties in a twist! Though I do admit it's pretty hot when you get all worked up like that." Gabriel said smirking knowing without seeing that Sam was blushing furiously, "shutup Gabe." Sam mumbled and sat down on the bed next to Gabriel snuggling into his side. "I love you Samsquatch." Gabriel whispered into Sam's ear, "I love you too Gabriel." Sam replied. The use of his full name made him shiver slightly, he smiled contentedly before falling asleep with his favorite moose in his arms.

Though he couldn't see Sam he knew that he was awake, he could here and feel the uneven breathing of a very conscious person, "Good morning Sammy!" Gabe said once again opening his eyes to pure blackness, he sighed, 'vision still gone...' he thought to himself wondering how long it would really last, he wanted to see his Sammy again!

Sam's POV

I glanced at Gabriel's sleeping form worriedly, wondering when he would wake up. "Morning Sammy!" Ok so he was already up. the rest of the day went pretty well, Gabe was pleasant despite his blindness and Sam was pretty happy the entire day, the doctors said that he would most likely get his vision back by tomorrow! Sam was incredibly excited.

Sam could hardly sleep, Gabe's vision should come back tomorrow and a thousand thoughts were racing through his head, 'what I his vision doesn't come back? what if he's blind for the rest of his life? SHUTUP Sam he'll be fine! yeah but what if he's not?? He will be and you know it so SHUTUP and go to sleep! rude...' These thoughts were racing through his head and he wished he could make them stop. It was the middle of the night and he was incredibly tired, and when Gabriel shifted into him rapping his arm around his waist and pulling him closer slightly, Sam was finally comfortable enough to sleep, with his trickster in his arms and with small hopeful thoughts building in his mind of tomorrow's events.

I'm so sorry for not updating sooner but school plus reading fanfics has kinda gotten in the way, oh and if you actually bothered reading this a/n you should read aficionado called You and Me it is absolutely adorable and I loved it so maybe you guys would too... some of my ideas came from that fic...
