✨🎃promt two; Dog chased me up a tree when I tried to knock on the door🎃
A smile made its way to your lips as you readjusted the bags of Halloween decorations on your arms, the crunching of gravel under your feet as you made your way up Brian's driveway. Your path to his door was cut short as you heard a small bark. Freezing, you quickly scoped around for the cause of the noise.
A little brown and white corgi popped out of the doggie door, wagging his tale happily at your presence. You quickly stuck out your hand in a stop motion, the dog plopped on his butt.
"Don't come any closer..." you took a few steps back.
You hadn't told anyone about your fear of dogs, no matter how small and fluffy, they were still scary. Before you could say anything else the dog hopped back up on his feet, sniffing towards you.
"Stay back...gah!" You almost fell backwards, dropping the decorations and sprinting away from the now approaching dog. You panicked, quickly scrambling up a tree as he yapped cheerfully. He turned around and ran back inside, not enough time for you to escape before reappearing with a tennis ball.
"You think this is a game?" You hissed, jumping on a higher branch. The dog dropped the ball at the root of the tree, he tilted his head.
" be gone demon." You grabbed a handful of leaves and threw them down. "The power of Christ compels you."
"(Name)?" The sound of your name made you jump slightly, losing your balance and falling (not so gracefully) to the ground.
You groaned as you sat up, rubbing your head. Tiny wet kisses were placed on your nose, you screamed and tried to push him back, covering your face."I'm too young to die!" You wailed dramatically. A hand was placed on your shoulder, peeking through your fingers you stared at the fluff of red curls.
"Here" he took your hand, lifting you up with ease. You cleared your throat and dusted your pants off, looking everywhere but at Brian. Your attempts at laughing off the situation failed as your face grew warmer.
Brian smiled at you and dusted tree debris from your hair.
"If I had known you were afraid of Maxwell I would've kept him away." He chuckled
"I'm not afraid!" You huffed, crossing your arms over your chest and puffing out your cheeks.
"He just startled me, that's all." You turned your head to the side, desperately trying to hide your embarrassment.
"All the way up the tree?" You playfully smacked his arm, stopping away and picking up the bags to dropped.
Maxwell trotted in front of you, Turning back and wagging his tail. You glared at him.
"This isn't over."
