Chapter 7

Preston's Pov

I didn't go with Rob to school today. I ended up walking to Lachlan's house and asking if he wanted to walk to school with me. I'm glad he agreed, otherwise I would of walked all that way to be declined.

We walked in silence, Lachlan looked at his feet while he walked so I took my opportunity to look at his face. His bright blue eyes looked a bit dull today and his mouth wasn't smiling nor frowning. His blonde hair was in its normal form. But for some reason he looked sad today.

We reached school and he followed me to our lockers. There we're a few glances from other students at him, but I urged him to keep moving. Once we reached our locker we grabbed our stuff and went to class.

Mitch and Jerome were in our class and we sat down with them. We talked about random stuff and Lachlan just sat there. The teacher finally decided to show up and we started doing physics and stuff. After we finished we said our goodbyes to Mitch and Jerome and headed to our next class.

(Since I'm too lazy to write what their next class is we can go straight to lunch! Yay food!)

I plonked down next to Rob then Lachlan sat down next to me. Me and Rob got into a random conversation about something until the others arrived. Ashley sat down next to Mitch then Louis sat down then Jerome.

Mitch and Ashley started talking and you could see in their eyes that they had a thing for one another.

"Hey you lovebirds!"

They turned to look at me and Ashley blushed like a tomato and Mitch scratched the back of his head.

"What are we doing tonight?"

I asked the group. Most of them shrugged their shoulders being the boring people they are.

"Fine, we can go to my house then."

I say and spin my fork around on my empty plate. We end up talking about random stuff until it's time to go to more boring school work..

(Time skip :)

We all pile into our usual seats in Rob's car and we head off to my house. Once we arrive we do the usual entrance of everyone diving on my couch then Jerome sitting on everyone. I pulled out my phone and took a picture and everyone had really random faces. I laughed and showed them.

"Delete it! My face looks horrible"

Ashley begged while trying to snatch the phone off of me. I deleted it and showed her.

"I don't believe you! Just give me the phone"

She whined while trying to grab my phone

"I deleted it Ashley I wouldn't keep photos if you didn't want me too keep them, you know me."

I said genuinely. She believed me and we ended up watching a few horror movies. Louise and Ashley were sitting near Jerome and Mitch. Naw they are all so cute together! I sat next to Rob and Lachlan on the couch while Matt and Vikk were on the floor. There was this one jump scare were everyone screamed except for Lachlan who didn't even flinch.

We ended the movie and I grabbed some more food. I think they have eaten more food in my house than I've eaten. Rob got a text message and he said he had to leave. So everyone else left except for Lachlan.

"I think I can walk home"

He mumbled and picked up his bag and headed for the door.

"I'll come with you"

I smile at him and slip on my shoes. We start heading off to his house. We don't talk the hole way there. He still doesn't look happy. So I decide to ask him about it.

"What's wrong lachy?"

I whispered at him while trying to keep a soothing calm voice. He stopped and looked at me. It looked like he was going to cry.

"Nothing's wrong Preston.."

He tried to say with confidence but saying my name was difficult. I frowned at him.

"Something's wrong Lachlan, tell me."

I said a bit more sternly this time. He looked at me and a few tears fell down his face.

"I'm fine"

He mumbled and turned away noticing the tears falling down his face. He tried to wipe them away but more tears fell. He then started sobbing. I did the only thing I thought I could do. I hugged him. He cried into my chest and it felt perfect. Not the crying but the embrace we were in. It was like we were made for each other..
