It was already Sunday, which meant picnic with Felix, his friends, and Woojin. And it was a relief that Woojin would get there with Chan, so he wouldn't have to care too much about it.When he got to the meeting point, where they all were supposed to gather and then leave for the insides of the park, Hyunjin was there. Changbin already knew it but he felt eased anyways. Hyunjin was the one who would visit the cafe with Felix more constantly, which led to him having a better relationship with the taller (yet younger) one than with any other of Felix's friends.
"Hey, Bin!" Hyunjin greeted him with a high five.
Changbin smiled and sat on the fence that surrounded the outside of the park. He wasn't supposed to be sitting there, but he didn't care, he didn't like feeling small standing in front of Hyunjin.
"How have you been?" He asked and Hyunjin grimaced, "Oh, trouble in paradise?"
Hyunjin sighed and flipped his hair back, looking stressed out, which definitely didn't go well with his pretty face.
"It's just that... Jeongin and Seungmin—," but Hyunjin cut himself when he saw both of the aforementioned walking towards them.
A few weeks from there, Changbin would get to know that Hyunjin was struggling with the fact that he liked both guys, who were casually in a relationship already. And although Changbin already knew that by now, he had a script to follow and he would do so.
"Changbin hyung!" Jeongin said happily, "It's nice to see you again," the younger one went to him and briefly hugged him.
Yang Jeongin was a freshman in college, a sweet 19 years old guy who would make you feel fond to him in an instant. On the other hand, Kim Seungmin, a sophomore, was just as cute as his boyfriend, but he wasn't naive. Since the day they met, they'd developed some kind of friendly rivalry that was really fun to observe. And then there was Hwang Hyunjin, also a sophomore, who was in love with both guys. Changbin almost felt pitiful for him, knowing that he would struggle even more in the future, but also aware that in the end, things would go well for him.
The next ones to arrive where Chan and Woojin. Who came walking really immersed in the conversation they were having and giggling. Changbin already knew Chris and he actually liked him, but they hadn't really had the time to become friends. Woojin was his best friend since years ago and also his roommate.
"Those two look cute together," Jeongin said.
"You two look cute together too," Hyunjin spoke this time, almost choking on his saliva after realizing what he'd said.
"Nah, Innie and I are always bickering," Seungmin said, ruffling Jeongin's hair.
The younger one slapped Seungmin's hand out of his head with a playful smile. And Changbin saw Hyunjin smile secretly and then sigh, probably feeling miserable. And although not in the same situation, Changbin related to him.
The rest of the group arrived shortly after and with them, Felix. Changbin felt stupidly excited for seeing him again, he couldn't help it. He had fallen for the brown haired one. When Felix saw him sitting on the fence, he smiled and Changbin felt his heart melt. Jisoos Chris help him because he was hopeless already.

Changbin wasn't a person that went out a lot, but he wasn't asocial either. It was simply the way he'd been raised didn't really allow him to meet a lot of people. So he was used to not being surrounded by others. And even like that, he liked going shopping and enjoyed other activities.
And until the day Felix spilled his entire cup of milkshake over him, his future had shown him that he wasn't really gonna meet a lot of people. However, that day it changed, which surprised him. Because suddenly, something he hadn't been able to see before, had been shown to him.
So now, being in a park, with eight other guys. Sitting on a white and red plaid blanket, he felt weird, but not bad. It was an environment he wasn't used to. With people joking and laughing around him and generally feeling kind of euphoric in there.
"So, Changbin, we go to the same college, right?" Jisung, a guy with black hair and big cheeks that he had not met before, asked.
"Uh huh," Changbin tried to answer with a bite of a sandwich in his mouth, he swallowed. "I missed a year for personal reasons, so now I'm technically a sophomore too," he explained.
"We are even studying the same thing, how is it that we didn't meet before?" Jisung whined, "Don't you have classes with Park?"
"Yeah, Tuesdays morning and Fridays in the afternoon," Changbin answered.
"Makes sense, mines are Wednesday and Thursday," the younger one sighed, "I want to make clear that—"
"I hate him with my entire soul," everybody, except for Changbin, completed Jisung's sentence and Changbin couldn't hold back his laughter, quickly infecting the others.
Changbin liked being there, surrounded by other people of his age that somehow had the same perspective of life. Finally forgetting for a while about the things he knew and those he wished he didn't. Not really stopping to think if he was saying what he was supposed to or to feign surprised faces. Just letting things go with the flow.
"Minsung, isn't your anniversary soon?" Woojin asked, and Changbin looked at him disconcerted.
"Minsung?" He asked.
"Yup, it's Minho and Jisung's ship name, " Chan explained, they've been officially dating for almost a year now," and for a second, Changbin really forgot about this although he knew it already.
"Ohh," Changbin said, "That's really nice," he said, smiling sincerely to the two boys that were sitting next to each other.
Back to the script, Changbin.
"I know~," the younger one crooned. "We will go to the beach that weekend, will stay there the night," Jisung smiled softly, probably imagining the entire trip.
Changbin smiled too, knowing they would have a safe and enjoyable trip.
"Use protection," Seungmin whispered while sipping in his drink and making everybody in the blanket start wheezing, except for the two victims who blushed furiously.
"I hope you do the same with Jeongin, Seungmin-ssi," Woojin attacked.
Seungmin choked on his drink, starting to cough like he was about to spit one of his lungs out of his chest. And Jeongin started to carefully tap the older's back, a little blush creeping up his cheeks. Changbin noticed how adorable he looked and how somebody else was trying to dissimulate the fact that himself was almost killed by his drink after hearing Woojin's words.
Honestly, he loved when Woojin would go out of his mold and say things like that. Because since he was so quiet and rational all the time, this kind of situation could leave anybody offside. And after being with Chan for a while, he realized that the other guy was really cheerful. Like, cheerful and funny in a cute way. The two were complete opposites, but somehow, they complimented each other and that was amazing. He liked to know that his best friend's partner was such a caring person.
To be honest, he didn't really spend that much time talking with Felix, but rather in general with all the guys in the group. And he wasn't regretting it. He would have time with Felix later, but now, he was happy with being there with all of them.
