So, World Unity, eh?
What really annoys me is the fact that people are always going on about how we need to work harder to get World Unity, how they always obsess over what needs to be done rather than what we have already done. Yes, I agree that more needs to be done but we need to celebrate what we have achieved so far.
Now, this is where you all think I'm weird but, guys, stick with me. I think we have somewhat achieved World Unity already, from worldwide fandoms and being fans of bands, movies, books, TV shows etc. With the use of the internet and social media sites such as Twitter, Tumblr and our very own Wattpad, people from all over the world are able to connect and bond over their favourites things. Many people take this for granted and don't realise just how positive and beneficial this can be. When people think 'fans' they just think of us as crazy, obsessive, socially awkward 'fangirls' who have no life and spend most of our lives cooped up in our rooms. What they don't think of is how powerful we can be when united. Fandoms have been known to raise money for charities; raise awareness for diseases, causes; stand up for their beloved actors and shows; and to bring fans together for a greater good. Yes, there will always be that annoying group that causes problems for no reason but together we can achieve anything that we set our fandom minds on. And this will also be the case with World Unity. There will always be people wanting to cause problems but slowly we can, and we will, reach what we desire most: World Unity. But for now we can just enjoy and be content that us, the younger generation, have already tasted World Unity and will strive to achieve it; so LET'S CELEBRATE! :)
