We were all sitting in the chief office, until a police brought in this crazy white, I knew he was crazy cause he had chains on his feet and hands, then I looked at his, and saw a big 'C' tattooed, I looked over at Michael who looked at me worried.

"Who that?" He whispered
"He in my gang, matter of fact, he close friends with the leader and he knows my face because, I'm in the gang" I whispered
"Damn, so we cant talk to each other or nun cause he here" he whispered back

I sat outside alone on the basketball court
Dang how we go from wanting to kill each other to being best friends?
Tyrese came up to me
"Wanna play" he said grabbing a ball
"Naw, I'm straight" i said
"Aw man come on, ever since we been in here I been feelin like we aint even best friends no more" he said
"You not best friend Tyrese, you my friend, and ion wanna play right now" i said
"Man you being wack and you actin gay cause u always want your lil teddy bear by your side" he said, I stood up
"Look Rese just go cause ian in the mood for fightin right now" I said
"Whatever man" he said walking off

I stood with Iron as he made tons of shanks
"Man why you bring all these toothbrushes, better yet, why you need all these shanks?" I asked
"Ha, some of these are for you, just in case that 2-20 fool come near you, no talking, just shank him" he said
"Ion need a shank, I can fight, why they ain't send you to the jail house, you know prison?" I asked
He put 4 shanks in a small bag and gave them to me
I gave it back to him
"Take theses shanks it's for protection" he said harshly
"Man I'm not finna shank nobody, just cause you crazy don't mean I am" I said
He looked at me, "You been hangin out with him?" He asked
"Nah man, we got into a fight when we got here cause he from 2-20" I said pointing at BJ
"Better not be, guess I have to keep an eye out on you the whole time here" he said
"No you don't, my man Scarface in here" I said
"And who's he?"
"He the dude I been sharing a cell with, he give good advice and stuff" i said
"Mhm, still ion want you talkin to that boy" he said standing up as the whistle blew
"I gotchu" i said as he walked in

I jogged to catch up with Michael
"How yo friend doin?" I ask
"He don't want me talkin to you, man he even gave me shanks if you tried to come to me" he said
"Damn, how many he give you?" I asked
"Four" He said
"Lemme hold two" I said, he went in his pocket and got two out and handed them to me
"That dude Eazy E was right, we don't even know the history of our gangs or why they hate each other" he said
"Yea, you right, cause now we cant play basketball or barely talk to each other, for who knows how long" I said
Then I saw that dude turn around and glare at us
I just pushed Michael to make it seem like we were fighting
He looked at me sideways and pushed me back
"The shank Mike!" The dude shouted
"I don't need no shank man!" He shouted back
Then we just started fighting but not real fighting
Tyrese and Scarface turned around

"Oh look the best friends are fighting"  I said
Then that dude came up to me
And Scarface hit me in the back of the head
"Best friends?" He asked his voice was raspy
Then I thought
Maybe I can keep Michael away from BJ for good this way
"Yeah they best friends they play basketball with each other every day and they talk and one time when Michael got hurt BJ went to the nurse office in the middle of the night" I said smirking and Scarface nudged me as he walked down to break up the fight
"Uh Huh" The dude said

"Mann y'all in some trouble" I said pulling them apart
"What you mean?" Michael asked
"Tyrese just snitched on y'all, he told EVERYTHING" I said they looked worried
"Oh shit" they both said
Then that dude came down and grabbed Michael
"Watch your back kid" he said to BJ as he walked off dragging Michael along
"Dammit, ima kill Tyrese" he said
"Shit I can only imagine being you right now kid, if you need any of my help I'm here" I said
"Man I do need your help, I wish one of my gang members was in here so him and that dude can kill each other" he said as we walked inside to go to lunch.

It's like the day go by so fast, I'm already lying in my bunk bed with Scarface above me
More or less my deathbed
I gotta do something, I can't let Iron or my gang kill BJ cause like we promised 'Brothers for life' 
I could hear crows outside
This the first time I ever been scared of my gang

"You crazy man" Michael said pushing me it was hotter than I don't know what outside and we were just hanging out
"Man I still cant believe we became best friends in jail" i said
"Brothers" he corrected me
Then I heard that swerving of a car
The pitch blackness over came me
*POW POW POW POW POW*
The light comes back only for me to see Michael holding.... me
"Mike, what happened?" My raspy voice asked
"You got shot man" he said while his voice was shaking
"Help!" He shouted for help as people came outside
Then I saw my dad,
He moved Michael out the way and picked me up
He sighed heavily
" How you trust Coolidge, you call him your brother but he set you up" he said to me
"No he didn't" I coughed before closing my eyes
I jump awoke, breathing heavily
Maybe I shouldn't be his brother, or his friend, or his best friend, not if I keep having these dreams of either him or me getting killed for hanging out with each other
But I can trust him, can't i?
