Our Afterlife

Prologue

"Forrest? Wake up!" A voice says.

My hands strapped to a bed. Where am I? The white lights burned my eyes. My arms where numb. They shuck my body. I couldn't breath. My brain lost in its self.

"Forrest I am going to ask you to sit up. We need to run test." The voice says again pulling the pillow out from under my head. It was a women's voice.

"No stop! Let go of me!" I struggle.

I slip my hand through one of the braces around my wrist.

"Hold her down!" Another voice says.

"No STOP!" I say smacking one of them across the face.

"Stabilize her NOW!" Anther one says.

One of the men grabbed a surge with a clear bubble liquid. He stabs the needle into my IV.

I look over at the bed next to me. Hunter was bruised and out cold.

My throat was crisp and dry.

"Water. Water." I stutter.

"Don't worry honey you will be out soon." The women says.

The bright lights around me became dark. My eyelids closed. The world was gone and I was closed in it.

I soon realized why I was here.

You can't trust anyone in this world.

Some secrets are meant to be kept to yourself.

Chapter 1

Connor stuffs his face with his burrito from Chipotle.

"Is that good?" Katrina laughs.

"What?" Connor says letting the food in his mouth fall.

"We should go find some clothes to wear for tomorrow." Katrina says.

Katrina and I throw away our Chipotle wrappers. Katrina runs for Old Navy.

"Wait!" I laugh chasing after her.

"Is this cute?" Katrina says with boots and a sun dress on.

"What's up with the combat boots?" I laugh.

"There cute!" She says running for the dressing room.

Connor walks over to me, with his hands behind his back.

"What do you think about this shirt." Connor says showing me this shirt.

"Zombies are People Too!" In bold lettering.

"No..." I say.

"Were is Hunter?" Katrina says from behind me.

Hunter throws a soccer ball at Connor.

"Found him." I laugh.

"You two are such children." I continue.

"Lay off a bit Forrest, we are just having some fun!" Hunter says.

"OH MY GOD I LOVE IT!" Katrina yells.

Hunter walks over to her looking at her head to toe.

"You... look......umm..beautiful." Hunters says gradually getting rosy cheeks.
