Up The Creek

Last night I was finally able to get some sleep. After staying awake all night in one challenge to facing my fears in another, sleep was great. I loved it so much, more than anything.

We were all supposed to meet Chris by the bonfire.
I got out of bed and started brushing my hair.

I heard a whisper. "Right." I looked around the room but I was alone the other girls were showering. There was a crow on the window sill, but it flew away. I shrugged it off and finished brushing my hair and got changed.

Most of the team was already there. "Got enough sleep from hugging that tree yesterday?" I turned around and it was Duncan with his stupid smirk on his face.

"You really wanna go there Celine?" He got rid of his smirk instantly. "By the way, don't ask why but keep the word 'right' in your head today." He nodded and I turned to look at Chris.

"Bass, Gophers, today's challenge is a true summer-camp experience, a canoe trip. You'll be paddling you canoe across the lake... to bony island. When you get there you must portage your canoes to the other side of the island, which is about a two-hour hike through treacherous, dense jungle." We all groaned.

A two fucking hour hike?! Let alone through a jungle which knowing Chris, we might be killed walking through. No.

"We've gotta pour what?" Geoff asked Chris.

"Portage." Geoff just stayed silent. "Dude, walk with you canoe."

"Oh." Idiot, I don't know what Bridge sees in him.

"When you arrive at the other end of the island, you'll build a rescue fire that will be judged by me. The first team to paddle their canoes home is the winner of invincibility. Move! Campers, Move!" Chris said.

We all took off to the beach where the canoes were.

"Oh wait! One more thing I should mention. Legend has it, if you take anything off the island, you'll be cursed forever." Chris said in a creepy voice.

We all just looked at him. Cursed forever? Okay, sure.

"Yeah a cursed island! Woo!" Owen yelled. We all just stared at him and started walking over to the canoes again.

"Paige! Wanna ride together?" Bridgette asked.

"Sure." I said walking over to her. "Courtney! Partners?" Bridgette yelled to her.

"Bridge!" I said. "What, I really need to talk to you guys. Please please please." She begged. I thought about it for a second.

"Fine."

Duncan walked over to me. "Hey Blue, wanna share a canoe?"

I looked over at Bridgette and Courtney then turned back to him. "Sorry I sorta already promised Bridge."

"No problem, I'll see you on the island. Try not to kill Courtney." He said, walking away laughing. "No promises."

I saw Duncan walk over to Sadie and Harold. Sadie and Harold?! I didn't know those were his type of people. I actually feel kinda sorry for Harold. Well, not really.

Me, Bridgette and Courtney all started pushing the canoe into the water.

"Ready. Set. GO!" Chris said shooting a starter race thing /?/ into the air. An eagle came crashing down. Nice going.
