I take a deep breath, staring at myself in the mirror. I couldn't believe today was the day, the day that I'd be married to the one I loved the most. The day that would mark even more of our journey to come. The day that would set our true lives into motion.
I knew I wanted this, and I wanted it more than anything. To be with her forever, to love forever. She would be mine, and I would always be hers.
The one downside would be that I don't have family that would be joining me, and that alone sent a pang through my chest and straight into my heart. But, I had friends. I had friends who cared, and who'd be by me. I lost people, and gained some back in different versions. My mother would be watching me from above, and that had the corners of my lips tugging upwards.
She was here. She'd always be here. In my mind, and in my heart. She'd always have her place within me.
"Wow, you look beautiful."
I blush, glancing down at my white colored manicured nails. "Thank you," I mumble.
Eric walks closer, nodding in approval. "Serena did a perfect job with your make-up. Definitely made you look ten times better than you previously did." He mused.
I gasped, slapping his arm. "I didn't look that bad! But yes, Serena did a perfect job." I scowled at him playfully, earning a chuckle.
"Emilia is going to pee her pants once she sees you, Soph." I gleam at him at the mention of my soon-to-be wife. "Oh, and someone special is here to see you."
I raise my eyebrow confusedly, wondering who exactly would be here to see me.
The questions in my head are soon answered as small footsteps stomp across the room, a small body flinging themselves into my arms. "Sophia!"
I stumble back, giggling. Eric chuckles, reaching out an arm to steady me.
Glancing down, a huge smile blooms on my face as my eyes meet beautiful blue ones. Her rosy cheeks growing as the smile spreads across her face. I squeeze her tightly, pushing hair out of her face. "Hello, Azalea love."
She giggles as I put her down, "You look wovely Soph! Like a pwincess!" My heart warms at her pronunciations of the words, and I bend down slightly, pinching her cheeks.
"Me? Look at you! You're the princess here!" I watch as she twirls, her beaded dress swirling around her small body.
"You like it? Auntie Em got it for me! I told that one lady how I wanted it to look!"
"Wow, I love it darling! Maybe you can design one for me one day, hm?" She stops moving and her mouth drops as she looks at me.
"Are you serious?!" I nod, my cheeks hurting from the constant smile she kept on my face.
