It has been a whole week on our lovely honeymoon when we had to rush back to the state of New York. Emilia got word that someone was interested in buying her club—even though it wasn't for sale— and went to claim it before something went wrong.
I had a feeling that this wouldn't be an end. Because who in the hell would try to buy something that isn't for sale? Unless they were tipped off about something.
I've learned to not be too naive since being kidnapped, and being betrayed. Everything has to happen for a reason, and some of those reasons need to be checked over and over under a microscope.
"Why is she there?" I hear Emilia speak loudly into the phone, anger lacing her voice.
I grab her hand, stroking my thumb lightly over it. She snaps her eyes over to me and visibly relaxes, blowing out a breath.
"We're almost there now. Don't let her leave." She hangs up the phone, throwing it down onto the seat.
I raise an eyebrow, "What's going on?" I shift, turning to her.
She shakes her head, "Nothing you need to..." her voice trails off as she looks at the expression on my face. She rolls her eyes, "Amanda. She's been trying to get in contact with me for two days now, but they're just now telling me. Today is the first day she just showed up at the condo."
I furrow my brows, "Why the hell is Amanda there?"
She shrugs, playing with the ring on my finger, "I have no clue, love."
Amanda has left Emilia alone for the time she's been with me, for the most part. Emilia would do her best to try and blow her off, and then one day she went quiet. Days turned into months, and we thought we were finally rid of her. That she finally understood that there would be, under no circumstances, any chance that she'd be able to get Emilia once again.
Her unexpected pop up left Emilia and I perplexed. On our honeymoon of all times.
The car screeches as we come to a stop due to how fast the driver was moving, and Emilia smoothly gets out, her feet crunching on the gravel. She holds her hand out as I slide over to her side, stepping out of the car.
She turns to me, "You go upstairs and relax, okay? I know you must be tired. We had a long week." She smirks at me, leaning down to kiss my forehead when I blush.
But, I didn't want to relax. I wouldn't be able to. I wanted to know why Amanda was here, and I wanted to be involved.
"I want to go with you, and to be involved." I mumble distractedly.
