Ai's POV

I just got back from my two weeks journey to the Land of Water. The jounin was disappointing tho. I thought he'll put up quite a fight, but he died within seconds. I don't understand why his head worths 3,000,000 ryo.

The tower was deserted. Looks like the other members are on a mission. Sasori take his cloak off since it's drenched in water (perks of living in Amegakure) and head back to his room. I took my cloak off too, thanks to the cloak my shirt is not wet.

I walk to the kitchen and found the blue haired girl is cooking inside. I don't know her name. How should I call her?

"a-emm, hello, nee-san."

The blue haired girl looks at me with her eyes widen in surprise. Then, she burst out in laugh.

"hahahahaha why do you call me nee-san? hahahaha look at your face," she point her spatula at me as she laughs. Seriously, I don't know how to call her! And I guess she's older than me. Is it wrong to call her 'nee-san'?

"My name is Konan. I guess you just got back from your mission, right? Do you want some?" she said as she offered me a plate of fried rice. It smells good! I'm hungry.

I took the plate and thanked her. She sat across me on the dining table. "Your name is Ai, right?"

I just nod at her since my mouth is full of rice. She's good. This is really delicious.

"I haven't laugh that much for a long time. This organization is quite gloomy, you think? Everyone is always so serious. It's like they lost their ability to laugh. Well, I can't blame them. Everyone joined this organization for a reason," she keeps talking while I finished my food. I thought she's a cold-hearted person. But, she's nice. Her eyes don't look as cold as the first time I saw her.

"Why do you join the Akatsuki?" she asked me. I washed my plate and turned my head at her, "I have nowhere to go."

She sigh and mumbles something about 'another Itachi'. Then, she got up from her seat with a plate on her left hand. "I'll have to go. Nagato must be hungry," she said as she left from the kitchen. Who's Nagato? I should definitely ask someone for the Akatsuki member list.

As I finished washing the dishes, I heard someone opening the front door.

"you should go back to your room, Itachi. You're still in a bad shape," someone with a blue skin and navy hair said. He's so tall. I guess I just reach his chest.

The black hair guy nodded at him and walk to the stairs. That guy! I pull out a small pack from my pocket and walk to him. He looks at me, confused, when I gave the package to him. "drink this when you feel like coughing again."

His red eyes look at me, "what is this?"

"medicine. Just think of it as a favor. You saved me back then," I replied as I left him confused.

It's raining outside when I woke up from my short nap. The sky looks gloomy as ever. I stretched my muscles and sit on my bed. Pain hasn't given me any mission to go. Well, I have never been to Amegakure. I guess I should take a look around.

I put on an oversized jacket to prevent my shirt from drenching. When I opened my door, I saw Itachi standing in the corridor. He was about to go back to his room.

"Itachi," I called him. He looks at me, with his red menacing eyes. He always has his guard on. I guess he might has some kind of trust issues.

"are you free right now?" He stood still, still looking at me. He looks confused. "why?"
