Christian
As soon as I got the text message from Kate asking if I wanted to hang out
with her and everybody else tomorrow I wasted no time throwing on my
jacket and shoes and running dow the street to Nate’s house. Once I got
there I started pounding on the door.
“Coming,” I heard Nate’s mom yell from inside just before she opened
the door.
“Hi, where’s Brittney,” I asked.
“Her and Nate are in Nate’s room watching TV,” Nate’s mom answered.
“Christian, is everything okay?”
“Everything’s perfect,” I assured her. “Can I come in so that I can talk to
Brittney?”
“Of course,” she told me stepping aside so that I could walk inside.
“Thanks,” I said before I walked to Nate’s room. The door to his room
was slightly ajar, but I knocked on it anyway.
“Who is it,” Nate asked probably noticing that the knock didn’t belong to
his mom.
“Christian,” I answered.
“I told you that he’d be over here in a matter of minutes,” I heard Brittney
say.
“You can come in,” Nate told me.
“Hi,” I said as I walked into his room.
“What’s up,” Nate asked me.
“Wait, let me guess,” Brittney said holding up her hand. “This is about Kate
texting all of us and asking us to hang out tomorrow, right?”
“Yes,” I answered. “I’m not sure why I freaked out and ran here, though.”
“Because there’s obviously something about the whole thing that you
wanted to ask me about or something like that,” she told me.
“Dang, you’re good,” I said.
“Well I’m a girl which means that I’m good at reading what’s possibly on a
person’s mind just by looking at them,” she shrugged. “So what exactly
did you want to ask me about?”
“Do you think that her wanting to hang out with all of us means that she
really didn’t mean what she said about us breaking up,” I asked.
“I’m not sure,” Brittney answered. “Maybe she’ll talk to you about that
tomorrow when we all hang out. For now, you should probably go home
and try not to overthink all of this.”
“Hey, did you text her back and find out where she wants to hang out
