Episodically I recall your face.
Your cold smile,
fulfilled with warmth
across your lips.
Your dark eyes,
with pain imbedded to your hips.I placed my gaze upon you,
On a blazing August day.
Your skin abused by your own hands.
How could you hurt me in this way?I didn't need your name
To feel the pain
Your body framedIn my eyes you were an emotional zoo
I believed I could save you.I was wrong.
Instead of you taking my hand in yours
You took my heart and encased it.
Encased within the first
I
Love
You.Thank you so much for reading my first poem in this book, I really appreciate the votes that I've received and would love to see your opinions and comments❤️
