Part 23 The Sacrifice

Seung Hyun stopped in his tracks. He could sense Hyun Joon approaching them from behind. He could smell the metallic smell of a gun in Hyun Joon's hand.

Seung Hyun ah~ JaeHee ah~

He continued as he kept going closer to the two. Seung Hyun took a deep breath as he turned around slowly. JaeHee did the same.

Kim Hyun Joon...

JaeHee growled. Hyun Joon kept his signature smirk plastered on his face. It was the one that he always had when he was ready to kill the target once and for all.

Yes? C23 ssi?

Hyun Joon said. JaeHee sighed.

We are colleagues. Please. I don't want anyone getting hurt here.

JaeHee attempted to negotiate. It was the best she could think of. Hyun Joon's twenty other men were already surrounding them.

Oh I know that... It's just you... You don't want anyone hurt... But I do.

Hyun Joon chuckled. JaeHee glared at Hyun Joon who still had his psycho smile painted across his face.

There was a moment of silence where the three stared at one another without saying a word. Their minds communicated. Hyun Joon's men still surrounded them.

You know what? No one actually has to get hurt. Just give me the real disease.

Hyun Joon's smile faded. His expression was more serious than ever. Seung Hyun glanced at JaeHee then looked Hyun Joon in the eye.

I don't have it. Every last bit of it has been flushed down.

Seung Hyun said. Hyun Joon scoffed and stepped closer to Seung Hyun. He lifted his pistol to Seung Hyun's chest.

Then should I spare you?

Hyun Joon asked, his face filled with the raging eagerness to shoot the bullet right through Seung Hyun's chest. Hyun Joon expected JaeHee to step in and help Seung Hyun, but she didn't.

Hyun Joon asked with the pistol still aimed at Seung Hyun's chest. JaeHee didn't move a single bit. It was better to keep quiet about the truth of Vampires than to tell Hyun Joon about it.

Even if I help... You'll still shoot. That's the monster that you've become.

JaeHee said as she secretly slipped out a syringe from her pocket. It had twice the concentration to knock out a vampire for at least three full days.

*BANG*

The sound of the gunshot echoed in the carpark. Seung Hyun turned to check on JaeHee. JaeHee turned to check on Seung Hyun. They were both fine.

Choi Seung Hyun!

The familiar voice of Seung Hyun's father sounded from afar. Everyone turned to look at where Seung Hyun's father was and realised that one of Hyun Joon's guys had been shot on the leg.

Instantly, all the remaining nineteen men pulled out their guns and aimed towards Seung Hyun's father's direction. Hyun Joon was distracted as well. JaeHee took the chance and jabbed the concentrated herb into Hyun Joon's neck. Within a few seconds, Hyun Joon collapsed without a sound.

Get them!

One of the nineteen men shouted. They split themselves up and started running towards Seung Hyun and his father. Seung Hyun, having his powers from the disease, fought the men with ease.
