From that day on, Jaemin had been spending his spring break with the same routine every day. He would spent his morning with his granny, either accompanied her to the market, helped her cooked or attended her greenhouse behind the Villa. After lunch, he would head straight to the church and spent his whole afternoon with Jeno.
Jeno was very delighted with his new friend's visit and it could be clearly seen in his sparkling eyes, even though those eyes showed no signs of life. Jaemin would bring along newspapers, books and even his laptop, whenever he needed to finish his school assignments.
Days passed and the two males were getting more attached to each other. Sometimes, they will just sat on the bench in the empty church, whispering and giggling together over something so trivial, especially over Jeno's two hundred years old lame pun jokes.
Apparently, if anyone was to ever witness the event, they would come to a conclusion that there was a poor mentally retarded fine looking young man giggling by himself in the church.
Whenever there was people came into the church, Jaemin would immediately bowed his head down, pretending to pray. Jeno then rolled on the floor, laughing his heart out at Jaemin's action. Jaemin would pressed his eyes and lips closed tightly, trying hard not to burst out laughing alone in front of some strangers.
One fine day, the two males were spending their afternoon together like they usually did. Jeno was snuggling against Jaemin's chest on one of the church bench with an excuse of wanting to read the book that Jaemin brought together.
Jaemin just let him do whatever as he felt nothing on him except for some kind of cold breeze brushing against him.
"Jeno, you're not a human right? Don't you have any special powers like moving stuff without touching them or something?"
Jaemin suddenly asked, breaking the comfortable silence between them. Jeno lifted his head to look at Jaemin, confused look was obvious on his beautiful face.
"Where did that came from?"
Jeno's voice cracked, causing Jaemin to let out a chuckle.
"I was just wondering. Do you have any?"
Jeno looked upwards, fingers on his chin, pretending to think.
"Well, if you want to consider putting off candles without touching it and walking through walls as special powers, then I have those."
Jeno then looked back at his bench mate and smiled with his crescent eyes. Jaemin cooed at Jeno internally and let out a chuckle.
"Whatever float your boat, dear."
Jeno pouted and turned to continue his reading.
"Have you met any other lost souls before? Shouldn't there be some sort of Soul Reaper or something to accompany the dead people to the Afterlife?"
Jaemin asked another questions, out of pure curiosity. Jeno looked up for the second time, trying to recall his memory.
"Well I did met some souls before. The ones who had their funerals in this church. But whenever I tried to talk to them, I was totally ignored. I was kind of offended, you know. However, the souls disappeared when their bodies were carried out of the church. I don't know what happened after that. About the Soul Reapers, I've never seen any of them though. Could it be that they don't exist? I don't know."
Jaemin just hummed in response.
"Quit distracting me. I'm trying to read."
Jeno slapped Jaemin's thigh, protesting and continued his attention on the book. Jaemin just let out a chuckle at the feeling of cold breeze brushing against his thigh. He could still felt the breeze even though the fabric of his jeans was quite thick.
