Belthazor better known as Cole Turner was born in 1885 to the mortal Benjamin Turner and the demon Elizabeth. Once married to Phoebe and having a child with her during his time as the Source of All Evil, though the child died before being born after his power overwhelmed the Seer. In his lifetime, Cole has been a demonic soldier of fortune, a mortal, possessed by the Source of All Evil, an Avatar and a soul trapped between life and death.
Over the show he has possessed a number of magical abilities; the most commonly used were the power to teleport and the power to throw projectile energy balls that could stun or kill
For over a hundred years he was a legendary demonic assassin. Dispatched to kill the Charmed Ones by the Source, it was on this mission that he fell in love with the then-youngest sister Phoebe, he renounced being evil and became a close ally to the Charmed Ones. Though he completely rids himself of his demonic nature, and married Phoebe in the fourth season, he never gains the trust of Paige.
During his story line, he returns to evil after unwillingly becoming the new Source. As the Source, Cole is eventually vanquished by the Charmed Ones, only to come back from death and attempted to win Phoebe back. By this point he is one of the most powerful beings to ever exist. Driven insane, Cole is, through his own doing, once again killed by the sisters in the fifth season. When the character returns for a quest appearance in the seventh season, it is unclear what kind of being he is, but states that he is caught somewhere between life and death, atoning for his sins.
