Chapter 8 – Oranges & Lemons
{Ricky POV}
“A barn?” Celia smirked and frowned at the same time, Andy wrapping a protective arm about her waist. “Seriously?”
“More importantly…” Chris raised an eyebrow at an old car sitting beside the barn, walking over to it and lifting the hood. “A secret entrance too cliché for anyone to guess.”
“Ooh! It’s just like in R.E.D.” Celia rolled her eyes. “How droll.”
I looked down into the dark stairwell. “Equip with dark…dripping staircase…coz it’s always creepier going down than up…”
“Toughen up princess,” Celia smirked as she took the first few steps into the underground lair. “Your mate needs you and you’re scared of a downward spiral staircase?” she winked at me as the others followed her down. “Live a little.”
I chuckled as I descended the stairs with the others. “Sarcasm is a foreign language to you, isn’t it?”
“Only when you try it, Horror.” She replied as we reached the bottom and Chris breathed in. “What?”
“There.” He pointed to an ajar door and, when we heard a small groan we all rushed forward, darting into the room…only to find the room… strangely empty. “I can smell her…”
I swallowed thickly as I smelt it too. “Blood.”
“Enough chatter.” A harsh female voice echoed through the dark. “Lights!” we all hissed as the lights went up. “Your sense of smell makes you easily led…” I cried out as a black dust was thrown in my eyes, blinding me as the others turned to fight those surrounding them. I felt someone grip my hair and yank me backwards…the smell of dead man’s blood filling my nose as a sharp blade was pressed to my throat. “Looks like I won’t have to go find you after all.”
I snarled. “Where is she?!”
“Far away from the pint of blood of hers you can smell…” The cold female voice chuckled cruelly. “I can tell you, she didn’t give it up easily.” She sighed as I regained my sight. “Just like her parents didn’t die easily when I told them I was taking her…” she snickered. “But I got out of that situation unscathed…and those trainees your friends have ready to kill…aren’t worth your time.”
“Well then,” I heard Tally’s voice and let out a concerned moan of a sound as I saw her step out of the shadows and stab the Hunter that tried to grab her in the back of the neck. “Let’s see you get out of this situation then…”
I smiled meekly as she let the now dead Hunter at the end of her knife fall to the ground. “Tally…”

{Tally POV}
I came to, tied to a chair, in one of the old training rooms…face to face with an old friend of mine. “Harley?” I groaned, feigning discombobulation. “What happened?”
She looked at me, frowning. “Missus Cee said you were compromised buy a vamp…”
“W…what?” I frowned, wriggling against my restraints, hanging my head and groaning quietly. “Whoever kicked me in the head knocked sense back into me somehow it seems…” I looked up and gave her a tired smile. “You don’t happen to have any aspirin with you, do you Harl? Or some water?”
Harley nodded. “Er…yeah…just let me-”
“You wouldn’t loosen the ropes a little would you darlin’? They bite something fierce.” I winced a little.
