I knock on the door like three time. After some minutes passed, Adauyo unbolt the door for me and I entered.
"Sister how was your day" Adauyo asked me
My day was good, atleast it was better than the previous day I replied
That a positive response Adauyo said
"Where is mummy and Chiemeile" I inquirie her
"They are inside the house, Mummy is cooking jolof rice which Chiemelie is watching television in the parlour"" Adauyo replied
Okay let me go inside I said.
I entered the parlour and caught a glimpse on Chiemelie sitting on the couch watching sponge boo cartoon displayed on the television.
I sinked on one of the couch.
"Sister good evening he" said.
"Evening dear" I replied.
"How are u doing" I asked him.
"I am fine" he replied.
"How was school today" I asked him.
"School was not so good today" he replied.
"Why did you said so, did something bad happen today" I asked him.
"Not at lot sister,is just that I was running late for school, I put the yam and sauce you cooked today and put it in my lunch pack and I took it to school the eat it during beaktime, after playing with my friends I came back the class and I realised I could not see my lunch back again. I think one of my classmates must have stolen it I assumed, that it how I came back with an empty stomach hungry".
I felt very sad for my bother after narrating the incidence that happen to him in school.
"Sorry, but have you eaten? I utter.
"No I have not eaten because when I came back mummy have not yet returned from the market, but don't worry mummy is cooking jolof rice in the kitchen" He respond.
"Okay let me go and see mummy in the kitchen" I said.
I trolled my way to kitchen,I turned the the door knob and walked into the kitchen and the aroma of the jollof entered my nose and stomach starting groaning in hunger.
I saw my mummy seated on the wooden stool and the stove facing her with holding a spoon stirring the rice.
"Mummy good evening ma I greeted her."
"How are you?" she asked me.
"I am fine" I said.
"How was ur day? she asked me.
"My day how good" I replied.
"Mummy I met a young lady today while I was selling my gala and she called my to come over and I when to met her and she brought three gala and gave me 2000 naira and I told her that I don't have change and she told me to keep the money" I said.
"Wow that great deal my daughter"
she replied."So what are u going to with the money she asked" me.
"Mummy I was thinking I should used it and go and look for a job in the city" I replied her.
"But who are you going to stay with" she asked me.
"Don't worry yourself when I go arrived the city I will see somebody that will let me stay with them" I replied.
"Good luck my daughter" she said.
I took a look at her face and I saw tears coming out of her eyes.
"Mummy why are you crying?" I asked her.
"Olado is just that I going to miss you a lot" she said.
I pulled her for a hug to comfort her. "Mummy I am going to miss you too".
She finally pulled out of the hug and said you should get ready to leave tomorrow morning you will leave early to go with the first bus.
"Okay mummy" I replied.
My mummy made her way out of kitchen to go and sit in the parlour.
I opened the pot,the water in the rice has dried up, l brought down pot on stove and turned it off. I took plates and dished the food in the plates and placed the plates on the tray and carried it to the parlour and serviced the food to everybody.
We prayed and everybody eat in peace.
After eating I told my sibling that I will be leaving tomorrow to the city.
And there said they are going to missed me so much.
And went to the room and arranged my dress in my traveling bag that I am going with.
After packing my thing I prayed for journey mercy and lie down on the bed and sleep off.
