Chapter 9

I regretted living with Nancy because I did know she wanted me to become a wench like her so that I will start selling my body to men.

I can still remember when I with my mother when my father died, my mother told me not to ever sleep with any man that my virginity in my dignity that I shall keep my self pure onto I get married not for money that we did not have but for my future and I accepted.

I was carrying my baggage on my head I and crying I did not care if people were staring at me.

I latter halt to buy water because I was very tasty and tired I sat at somebody store to rest.

"Madam I want to buy  cold sacket water."

"How many do you want to buy?' the woman asked me.

"I want to buy two sacket water" I told her and I gave her 50 naira.

The woman collected the 50 naira and went to opened her refrigerator and brought out two sacket cold water and gave me with my balance of 30 naira.

I drinked the sacket cold  water and toss away the sacket outside.

I stayed in the woman sales outlet for about 20 minutes and I decided to leave.

As I was walking I was a poster on a wall and a read it it says.

A vacancy needed urgency as a cleaner at finvaga ltd company call this number if interested 0853419432

After reading the poster I decided to call the number maybe I could work there.

I took my phone from my purse and called the number and it ranged and the person pick up.

"Hello am I on to finvaga ltd company?"

"Yes ma you right what can I do for you" the person it sounded like a voice of a lady.

"I want to apply for the job of a cleaner because I readed the poster on the wall."

"Okay ma tomorrow come by 8am in the morning for the interview and remember don't come late because that is highly not accepted."

"Okay thank you I will there thanks bye."

And I ended  the call and put my cell phone back to my clutch bag.

I decided to go back to sale woman if I could be sleeping in her shop for the moment.

"Madam can I please be sleeping in your shop for the moment until I get somewhere to stay I asked her?."

"Yes dear you can be sleeping here until you get a house to stay." she replied me.

"My dear what is your name?" she asked me.

"My name is Olado." I replied her.

"What is the meaning of your name?" she asked me.

"My name means silver and gold" I replied her.

'Where are you from?" she asked me.

"I am from Abia state." I replied her.

After talking to her night finally came. She told me I should spread wrapper on the floor and I should use the bucket to fetch water to take my bath at the back of the shop very  in the morning by 5am before people start coming out for they morning duties.

I will just do as you say thank you very much for your kind gesture I told her.

She is a black fat and has tribe mark on her side cheeks.

She packed her consmer. goods to close up for the day to go to her house.

Tomorrow I will prepare and go to the interview at finvaga ltd company.

I brought my cell phone from my clutch bag and set alarm by 5am to wake up and kept my cell phone in my clutch bag.

I spread my wrapper on the floor to catch some z's  and closed up the door and window and prayed and drifted to a deep slumber.
