Yeah.
This is a pairing my friend once thought of.
She called it, 'The Lara Croft pairing' with Amami being a traveler hunting for treasures and Maki, his trustful companion protecting him from dangers. They were supposed to represent the gun part and the treasure hunting part of Lara Croft, hence the nickname.
I honestly think it'd work both as secret lovers and as friends so I guess my opinion is split on this.
