Chapter 1

"Honey, you may want to get ready for school! It's your first day, you can't be late!" My mother said to me in her sweet voice. She had short, black hair to her shoulders, red eyes, and always wore a eye patch over her left eye. "Alright mom." I sighed. I picked my bowl up and brought it to the sink. "Bye Mom!" I said. "Bye honey, have a good day at school!" She smiled. "Don't worry, I won't!" I yelled as I sprinted out the door. "Oh it's night time, I can just fly. Duh!" I thought. I  transformed into my bat form, and flew the obnoxiously long 30 miles to get to the school. I got to the school just before the bell rang and flew through a open window. I transformed back into my normal form. Students crowded the hallway, heading to their classes. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned quickly. "No way! You were just in bat form! Only the best vampires can do that!" He yelled. I covered his mouth quickly. "Keep it down!" I whispered. I uncovered his mouth. "Leave me alone!" I said as I walked away. I heard loud footsteps behind me. "Hey wait up! What's your name?" He called. "Why do you want to know?" I asked. "Because it looks like we're heading to the same place!" He said. "Great I have to see this guy's face more often." I thought. "Vampires can read minds, you know!" He said. "Whatever." I sighed. "So anyway, the names Phantom, Phantom Jones. What's your name?" He asked. "Demonica Derora, now leave me alone." I yelled. I walked through two heavy doors, and quickly walked to my seat. Phantom and a girl sat next to me. The girl had white hair, red eyes, and a depressed look. I sat on the far end. "Hello class, today we have a new student. Please come to the front and introduce yourself. I stood up and walked to the front of the class. "Hello, my name is Demonica Derora. I have no interest on making friends so please leave me alone." I said in a stern tone. "Well my name is Mr. Crow. But in order to be here you-" I cut him off. "I don't like company." I said. I walked to my seat and sat down. Mr. Crow gave me suprised look. "Yes?" I asked. "Oh uh, nevermind. Anyway, tonight we are going to learn how to hunt. Everyone get in groups of three. Then, wait for my instructions." Mr. Crow said. I raised my hand. "Uh, yes Demonica?" Mr. Crow asked. "Can I work alone?" I asked. "I'm afraid not, you must work in groups of three. If not, you will be suspended." Mr. Crow sighed. "Whatever. Pick my group for me please, I don't do well with others." I said. "Okay, Rachel and Phantom, you work with Demonica." He said. "I have to work with THAT moron?" I thought. "Hey!" Phantom yelled. The girl who sat next to me came up to me. "Hi! My name is Rachel! Nice to meet you!" She seemed very energetic. "Demonica. Are we working together?" I asked. I gave a slight aditude. "Uh, yeah actually." She smiled. "Whatever. Let's wait." I sighed. Once everyone got there groups together, everyone sat down. "Alright students, is everyone ready?" Everyone nodded. "Alright. Here are the rules, first, you can't go into houses or any form of building, second, you can only hunt people outside. Alright? Good? Let's go. You may get with your groups and leave." Mr. Crow said. Me, Rachel, and Phantom got into our group and left. We walked through the halls until we found a door. Phantom whispered in my ear. "Show Rachel your bat form!" He whispered. I pushed him away. "That stays between us!" I yelled. "What?" Rachel asked. "Oh, nothing important." I said. Phantom wiggled his eyebrows. "Wow, you do a good job keeping the inpresion you don't care!" Phantom thought. "Shut up!" I screamed. I kicked him and he went flying like in the movies. He soon came back and we were able to get to work. We walked though the woods. "Walking is so boring!" I complained. "You lost your cool for a minute." Phantom teased. "Uh..." My face turned red. "Uh, shut up!" I screamed. "You know what? I don't care anymore!" I said. I turned into my bat form. "No way! That means your one of the-" I cut Rachel off. "Don't even go there!" I yelled. We eventually found a open window and I flew out. "Aren't you coming?" I asked. "This is a five story building, I'm not jumping from that high!" Phantom yelled. "I agree with Phantom, I'm going out a door. Rachel said. "Suit yourself, I'm going to hunt. See you in a hour." I said. I flew off and above the forest. "Nobodys here, I guess I have to go to the town." I thought. I flew all the way to the town, which surprisingly wasn't as far as I thought it would be. There were so many people out, it was perfect. "Mommy, mommy, look a bat!" A little girl chanted as she pointed at me. "Can't eat her, she's with her mom." I sighed. I continued flying. But one person after the other was with someone. "Ugh! Is everyone with someone?" I thought. I continued flying, now I was in the geto. "Is this place full of allyways?" I thought. One person was by himself. I licked my lips. "Perfect." I thought. I swooped down. I got behind him, and transformed. I bit his neck, sucking his blood. I won't kill him, but I'm starving. Ill just get rid of him memory after. I bit harder, then stopped soon after. I checked his eyes. Soulless, I didn't kill him, that's good. "Now to just erase his memory." I thought. I used a common spell for vampires, to get rid of their memory. I turned into my bat form, then flew away. "I should go back to school. The're probably there by now." I thought. I flew back to the school. I flew through a open window, and saw Phantom and Rachel talking. I turned into my normal form, and walked up to them. "Oh hey Demonica! By the way, can I call you Dem?" Rachel asked. "I don't care what you call me." I sighed. "Okay great! So how many people did you hunt?" Rachel asked. "Only one..." I paused. "But there was only person by themselves!" I sighed. "Again, keep your cool." Phantom thought. "Shut up." I said with a aditude. "Good job!" He smiled. "What are you talking about?" Rachel asked. "Nothing, let's get to class." Phantom said. We walked to class. "Hopefully this part won't be as annoying as the first part." I thought.
