"I know who Zoe Sugg is!" Ashton yelled, running into the kitchen the next morning. Calum and I were sat at the table in the kitchen eating the last remaining food we had in the house; Michael and Luke were out shopping for more food. "I knew I recognised her from somewhere!"
"Is she famous or something?" Calum asked, only a hint of teasing in his voice. Ashton didn't pick up on that, as he just nodded his head vigorously.
"Yeah! You know my friend Caspar? He lives in England, he does YouTube?" He waited for our responses and when both Calum and I nodded slightly he rushed on. "She does that! Her username is Zoella. She's really popular, she's very famous. I've heard of her because she's Caspar's friend - she's in his videos sometimes, and his roommate is Zoe's brother."
"Log onto YouTube," Calum said to me, pointing at the my MacBook that was still on the sofa from the night before. "Watch a couple of her videos." I did as he said, fetching my laptop and returning back to the kitchen, angling the laptop so all three of us could view the screen.
"Watch the most recent video," Ashton said, pointing at a video titled 'My New Favourite Artist!'. I clicked on the thumbnail and the video started playing, revealing an extremely pretty girl with long brown hair that was dip dyed blonde. She looked to be in her early twenties.
"Hello everyone!" She said, waving enthusiastically. "So as you all know I have my own little place in Brighton but it's still a little bare, so what I did was buy the most amazing art ever! I bought it from an artist called Erica Harris, she's a fellow Brit who now lives in Australia and she's only eighteen! I bought seven pieces of her artwork because I love it so much, she's so talented so I suggest you all head over to ericaharris.com.au and check out her artwork - it's absolutely amazing! I know all my friends love what I bought and they're all searching her site right now for their own stuff. If you want to know more about the artist go to her site! That's all for know; just a quick update! Bye!"
"Oh my god," I looked between Ashton and Calum and then back at the computer screen. I looked at how many people were subscribed to her YouTube channel and it said 5.4 million. "She just told over five million people about my paintings!"
The sound of my email went off and I opened it, seeing I'd had a reply from the customer;
Miss Erica Harris,
Thank you for your email yesterday, and thank you for the small printout book. I make YouTube videos for a living, and I should have checked beforehand but I mentioned you and your paintings in my latest video - I love them so much!
Your email sounded very professional and formal, but I would like to ask a few questions, for curiosity more than anything else. Please feel free to decline that, I would totally understand.
Yours sincerely, Zoe Sugg.
"Wow," Ashton said quietly. "That sounds very forward."
"It sounds like she's trying to get to know you," Calum pondered. "Like, friends."
"Well I won't say no to that," I huffed as I immediately started typing up a reply. "I need more female friends."
"I'm slightly offended by that!"
I laughed at Calum, closing the MacBook once the email was sent. "You know what I mean, I'm literally with one of you guys every day. The only girls I ever see are Lauren or your mums - not that that's a bad thing, I just want to hang out with girls more my age."
"Why don't you Google her," Ashton suggested. "I've heard Caspar talk about her, but nothing in detail."
Sighing, you open up the laptop again, searching Zoe Sugg. The top result was her Wikipedia page and you clicked on the link, scanning through the first few paragraphs for anything important. "Zoe Sugg is a British YouTuber...started off as a fashion and beauty blog...participates in challenge and tag videos...sibling to Joe Sugg...encouraged his YouTube career...in a long term relationship with fellow youtuber PointlessBlog also knows as Alfie Deyes...twenty four years old...lives in Brighton."
