Louis and (Y/N) walked out of the school, (Y/N) straightening out her clothes. Everyone else was already sat down, enjoying the food Omar had cooked up for them. (Y/N) stopped, "Ugh, it's gonna be so awkward with Marlon."
Louis chuckled, "Well, he did catch us in a moment." (Y/N) shook her head as he said that.
"God Louis, you make it sound so... much worse then it is." She uttered, trying to hide a small smile.
Although the atmosphere of their conversation was happy, and a bit flirty, a slight echo lingered in the back of her head, "What are we now? What does this make us romantically?" But she pushed it aside. Instead of confronting Louis and the voice in her head, She turned to the food pot, with Omar signaling them over to eat. She was starving, and a good hot meal is all she needed at that moment.
Louis and (Y/N) sat at the table with Marlon, Ruby, Clementine, Tenn, AJ, and Violet.
After, laughing about bad table manners and causing Ruby to leave, Louis turned his chair and took out a deck of cards. Marlon asked what they were about to play.
"War. The oldest game around. A game played by man and beast alike. The only game there is."
(Y/N) playfully rolled her eyes as they explained the game to Clem. A few questions were asked before Louis's turn, and to (Y/N)'s surprise, he chose Clementine. (Y/N) was half expecting him to ask her a question, but she shrugged it off considering Clem was new after all. Louis looked unsure, as if he wasn't sure of he should ask.
"C'mon, spit it out." Said violet, in her usual irritated tone.
"So uh...ever, uh..ever had a boyfriend?"
Clem's eyes widened slightly in confusion and shock while Marlon chuckled. (Y/N) glanced at Louis before turning her head. "Now why on Earth would Louis want to know?"
Violet slammed her fist onto the table, "Oh my God!" She hollered, shaking her head.
Louis defended himself while (Y/N) was lost in her thoughts. He turned from Violet to Clem, "You can ask me if I've ever had a girlfriend. I haven't by the way."
"What the Hell is that supposed to mean?"
She gave a snarky comment, "Trust me, he hasn't."
Louis didn't even make eye contact with (Y/N). (Y/N) could feel the unethical rage boil inside her, why was he saying all this? After the moment they had shared together not even an hour ago?
Marlon's eyes showed a glint of confusion as he turned his head to (Y/N), then back at his best friend.
Clem hesitated, then replied, "I... met a boy one time."
"Makes sense, you're really pretty." (Y/N) commented, trying to mask her discomfort.
Clementine smiled and thanked her.
"Sorry, but I have to go, I'm really tired. Goodnight." (Y/N) said bluntly, walking away. She didn't want to deal with Louis's innuendoes tonight, she wanted to be alone.
Marlon excused himself "I'll be back." And followed (Y/N) into the school.
Louis frowned.
"What was that about?" Violet asked, watching them leave.
(Y/N) sat against the wall on the Hallway  floor, contemplating. Why was Louis acting all weird now, and what's his sudden interest in Clementine? She hugged her knees and scoffed, "boys are absolute idiots" She thought to herself. (Y/N) flinched as someone sat next to her. She turned her head to see Marlon.
"What do you want? Why did you follow me?" She hissed at him, defensively.
"Woah, i just wanted to see if you were okay. You looked kind of upset when you left." Marlon said, looking at her with concerned eyes.
She sighed, Marlon probably knew what was going on anyways, but nonetheless, she rather keep her business to herself.
"Nothing Marlon." She mumbled glancing away. The fact that Marlon came to check up on her made her spirits lift a bit, knowing someone cared always helped.
"Is it because of Louis?" He asked.
(Y/N) scoffed. She wasn't surprised of his observations. He was always so good at reading other's emotions, and they had known each other for a long time. (Y/N) nodded, staying silent.
He patted her shoulder, "I'll talk to him about it." He gave her a warm smile and got up to walk away, put before he did (Y/N) grabbed his hand.
"Thanks Marlon."
"No problem."
When Marlon left, (Y/N) stood up. She snuck out behind the school and walked to the green house, although the inside had been overrun with Walkers, she still enjoyed the green around around her; Plus, none of the other kids came around there as often as she did, so she'd have some time to think.
She walked around the perimeter of the greenhouse, lost in her own thoughts, she sat against the side of the greenhouse, near a whole in the wall where she could smell the fresh overgrown basil. She closed her eyes to rest a while, the brisk nighttime air comforting her.
Suddenly, (Y/N) felt an undead hand reach and scratch at her face and neck, she jumped as she tried to grab at the walkers hands and push it's face back into the whole of the greenhouse from which it came. She gasped and screamed, "No, no, no, no, no!" She yowled.
Louis charged at the walker, with his weapon
Chairles, bashing it over the head and smashing its brain. (Y/N) threw herself onto the grass, gasping for air and shaking from the pure shock and fear.
Louis dropped his weapon and turned his head to (Y/N). (Y/N) look up at Louis, her eyes still wide. There was a short silence between them before a spark of emotions. Louis dropped to his knees and hugged (Y/N) tightly, as if it were the last time he'd ever touch her, because it could have been. (Y/N) shuttered and hugged him back, digging her face into his chest.
Louis slightly pulled away, looking at (Y/N)'s pretty face. "I looked everywhere for, you; Marlon told me how you felt. I didn't mean it, honestly."
(Y/N) sighed, "I know Louis."
Louis hugged her and murmured, "I'm sorry."
"I know."
