Louis let out a wry laugh, he leaned over (Y/N) and landed a kiss on her forehead, moving displaced hairs out of her face, "Goodnight, (Y/N)" he murmured dismissively. She went to sleep, angry.
The next morning, it was time for Brody and Marlon's funeral.
(Y/N) sat up in bed, she was mad. How dare Louis avoid her question like that, after she had built up the courage to ask in the first place. She turned around to see Louis gone, the space in the bed where he was supposed to be was empty.
She groaned and slid out of bed groggily. The sunlight spilled out from the window and into her eyes, she let out a small hiss. She squinted her eyes and her vision went blurry. When she opened her eyes, she saw the silhouette of Clementine standing in the door way.
(Y/N) stared at Clementine, "What do you want?" She asked, standing up and brushing her clothes off.
"(Y/N)..." she began, "Thank you... for, you know, kicking Marlon's ass for me. Heh, maybe I should have called for you instead of Louis." Clementine scratched the nape of her neck.
(Y/N) glared at her, "You're welcome. But this doesn't mean I'm on your side."
There was an awkward silence.
"You're also welcome to come to the funeral." (Y/N) commented, she left the room to attend, bumping Clementine's shoulder on her way out. Not giving her anymore time to speak, even though Clem looked like she wanted to say something else.
Truth be told, (Y/N) didn't trust Clementine since the night of her friends deaths. Her trust would be something Clementine would have to regain. But till then, (Y/N) would remain suspicious.
She put on her outside clothes and her worn out shoes, she pulled an old photo of herself and Sophie at a park from when they were younger, before everything went to shit. (Y/N) sighed, "Oh Sophie... I really hope I see you again." She murmured to herself, closing the building door behind her and walking towards Marlon's funereal.
Walking up to Marlon and Brody's graves there was an odd silence, all she could hear was the leafs crunching beneath her boots. And she couldn't see anyone standing next to the disturbed soil. What time was it?
(Y/N) turn back into the building, looking around for any of her friends. Wandering through the walls, she spotted Mitch leaned against a window.
"Mitch!" (Y/N) called out as she jogged towards him.
Mitch turned his head to her, giving her the side eye, "Where were you?"
(Y/N) shrugged, "Whatdaya mean? I just woke up for the funereal, why is no one outside?"
Mitch scoffed and crossed his arms, turning away from her in disapproval, "You overslept and missed it, asshole." He scorned.
"What?! No way! Why didn't anyone wake me up! I thought it would be later!" She shouted.
Mitch ignored her and walked away, bumping her shoulder just as she had done to Clementine earlier.
(Y/N) pinched the bridge of her noes, no wonder Clementine had looked like her statement was uncompleted, she was going to tell (Y/N) she missed the whole funereal like a dumbass!
She ran up to Louis's room, cursing under her breath. She knew how important this funereal was to him, she didn't want to have had left him down. She got to the stop of the staircase, out if breath from running up the flights. (Y/N) banged on his door. "Louis! Open up!" She hollered.
Louis's door swung open, and Clementine stood in the doorway.
(Y/N)'s eyes widened, "What are you doing here?" She asked.
Clementine scratched the back of her head, "I just had to ask Louis a question."
(Y/N) Glared, "Get out of the way, Clementine!" She hissed.
Clementine shot back, "Excuse me?! Thats what I was Doing!"
Louis walked up to the doorway, his eyes dull and red. "Guys. Cut it out." He said, in his boyish tone.
Clementine rolled her eyes and left the doorway, leaving the two behind. (Y/N) watched her walk away before she began talking to Louis.
"Louis, I'm so sorry. Why didn't you wake me up?"
Louis sighed, he looked angry. "I wanted to! But Violet wouldn't let me. She said it was your responsibility to wake up." He growled.
(Y/N) felt her blood boil. She and Violet, had never gotten along, usually their agreements were about Violent being a bitch to Brody. But Brody was gone now, and (Y/N) wasn't about to let herself become Violet's new target.
"I just...I wanted you to be there." Louis' winced.
(Y/N) frowned, "Louis-" she began, "Stop allowing yourself to be bossed around by Violet. She bosses everyone around and it's not right." She hugged him.
Louis basically melted into her embrace, (Y/N) knew what it was like to lose someone as close as Marlon was to Louis, but he had to man up soon, as their struggle for survival was never over.
She huffed, thinking of what to say to Violet, "I'm going to have to have a strong word with that girl!"
Louis let go of (Y/N), looking into her eyes with a dull expression. "(Y/N), you need to vote." He said.
(Y/N) tilted her head, unsure about what he meant, "Vote on what?" She asked.
"Vote on wether or not we kick AJ and Clementine out of the school." Louis frowned, seriously.
(Y/N) looked surprised, was this what it had come to? Kicking people out?
She thought for a moment. 'That would be horrible, I cant to that to them.' She thought to herself. Clem and her may not be the best of friends, but they were in this together, everyone Had to stay together as a group. Clementine did a lot for them, she lead them to get food that will last them weeks and uncovered Marlon's secret. And AJ was just a little kid.
(Y/N) looked Louis square in the eyes, "I vote they stay."
Louis nodded, "Okay, well-" he stopped, interrupted by (Y/N).
"Wait just a second, Louis. You never answered my question last night. Actually, you completely ignored it!" (Y/N) said, asserting herself.
Louis sighed, and looked up at her, "I knew you'd say something about that."
"Is there a problem?" Asked (Y/N).
He shook his head, "N-no! There's nothing wrong with anything, nothing wrong with you at all."
(Y/N) was now beginning to clench her jaw, she did feel bad for Louis, and she did feel bad for missing the funeral, and although she didn't want to put anything else on Louis' plate at the moment, she couldn't let this slide.
"So what is it Louis?" She lightly hissed.
Suddenly, Louis hugged (Y/N) abruptly and tight.
"It's just that, now, if I were to lose you I'd be more heart broken then ever! (Y/N)!" He scorn, almost as if he was scolding her.
She melted into his arms. "I don't want to lose you like I lost Marlon." Louis cried.
(Y/N) shook her head and slightly pulled away from the hug, looking into Louis's eyes.
"Louis... you'll never lose me." She soothed him.
Louis sniffled and smirked boyishly, tears still streaming down his face, "Pinky promise?"
(Y/N) let out a wry laugh and locked pinky fingers with Louis, even though she didn't believe in the whole promises thing. But, she knew this was one she could never break.
Louis sighed and looked away from her, "We have to tell Clem about them having to leave."
"What?!" (Y/N) said in surprise, "I just voted they stay! Was that not enough?"
Louis shook his head, and lead (Y/N) to the room where Clementine and AJ were waiting in. Violet was standing outside the door, she had been waiting for Louis. She scoffed when she noticed (Y/N) with him.
"Took you long enough." She scolded.
(Y/N) gave her the side eye, she had decided she would confront Violet after.
Louis opened the door. Clem stood up from the bunk and looked at them uncertain, AJ followed after her.
Violet stuck her hands in her back pants, and after a moment, spoke. "We took the vote. You have to leave."
(Y/N) murmured under her breath, just loud enough for Violet to here, "Bullshit." She sharply commented.
Violet turned to her, "If you're going to be a bitch about it, you can just leave."
Clementine and AJ looked at (Y/N) pleadingly, but she couldn't do anything to help them, their fate was sealed.
(Y/N) sighed, giving Clementine one last look before leaving the room.

After Clementine and AJ were sent on their way, (Y/N) met Violet out in the court yard.
Violet stared at her, "What do you want?"
(Y/N) glared, "Why the Hell did you tell everyone not to wake me up for Brody and Marlon's funeral?" She asked.
Violet licked her teeth and crossed her arms, "Because, I know what you did. But do you?"
