What?
My body is completely frozen in place.
Eren continued to look at me, not afraid.
I choked out, "What did you say?"
Eren looked at me seriously and said, "I love you, Mikasa."
I stared at him, trying to understand what he was saying. Is this actually happening?
He continued, "I don't expect you to have the same feelings for me, but I wanted you to know. This is why I'm so adamant about protecting you--"
"I love you too", I blurted out.
I couldn't let him think that I didn't feel the same way.
He looked into my eyes, our faces bright red.
Eren smiled and gently placed his hand on my face, "I'm so relieved to hear that."
I smiled back and put my face into his hand. I looked back at him, and his face slowly changed. He looked serious again.
I looked at him confused.
"What's wrong?", I asked.
He smiled, and place his other hand on my face.
He pulled me close without hesitation.
Before I knew it, we were kissing.
Holy shit! Am I really kissing Eren?!
My head spun as the kiss deepened. My heart raced, and I couldn't help but smile while we kissed.
Eren pulled away and looked at my giddy smiling face.
He blushed and smiled, "I've been thinking about what that would be like for a long time."
I sighed and we both sat on my bed.
"So what does that mean for us?", I asked.
He immediately looked sad, "I still need to go. You have to trust me, and understand that this is for your safety."
I responded seriously, "I trust you, Eren. I trust you with every part of me."
His eyes widened, and a small blush crept across his face.
I smiled, "With that being said, I can't take back these feelings I've showed to you. I don't want to."
Eren sighed, "I know, I don't want to either; but we can't be together."
I thought for a second and responded, "What if we are together in secret? Like we keep it from everyone?"
He looked down, "We can't do that. It's too dangerous."
"I don't care", I blurted out.
Eren responded, "Mikasa--"
"No. I'm not accepting that. We can hide our relationship. It would look completely normal if we visited each other, considering we grew up together. We can do it, I know we can. Please, Eren", I pleaded.
He thought about it for a few minutes and sighed, "Okay, but the first sign of trouble and we have to stop. I can't risk your well-being."
I squealed, "Thank you!"
I pulled Eren into a tight embrace, and we held each other for a few minutes.
As we pulled away, I could see that Eren looked nervous.
"What's wrong?", I asked.
He started, "Well, I know technically our relationship would be secret but I-I still want to ask. Will you be my secret girlfriend, Mikasa?"
