Chapter 5: Mission

It's been three days since Keith passed out during his and Lances fight. And Keith won't wake up. Everyone has tried something, but still nothing worked.

Luckily Coran was able to find out what was wrong with Keith. Turns out Keith is in a deep sleep and the last time this happened was when Coran lost his son.

It was Hunks turn to watch over Keith while Lance went and got some food. Everyone was quiet when he walked in. Lanced looked horrible, he hasn't left Keith's side for three days except once last night to take a shower.

Once Lance sat down everyone went back to work. Pidge has been working extremely hard to build a machine to try and help Keith.

"Uggghhh! If only we had a dream machine, something to allow us to go into Keith's dream." Pidge was frustrated.

"Wait! There is!!" Coran was now excited. "It's a machine that allows one person to go into the others dream and try to help them. They used it on me last time, the Princes wasn't born yet. So it must be some were around the ship."

"What does this machine look like." Pidge asked.

After the explanation on the machine.

"Wait!!! I know we're it is!" Pidge was up and out the door in a matter of seconds.

Everyone else went back to were Keith was, waiting for Pidge to come back. A few seconds later Pidge came back with a bunch of equitment.

"It's some stuff I found around the ship. I used it for my video games....I didn't think it was anything important until now! Lance, Hunk help me set it up. Quick!!"

After about a few minutes of setting the thing up, everything was ready.

"Ok now all we need is someone to go into his dream. It would be best if it was someone who has a strong bond with Keith." Coran explained.

Everyone looked at Lance. And Lance felt his heart drop, he was expecting Shiro to volenter.

"Shiro is this ok with you?"

"Oh course it is Lance. You have the biggest bond with Keith even if you two argue a lot. Also I trust that you will be able to get Keith to wake up."

Lance eyes were beginning to form tears, but he held them back to stay strong for his team especially after all the support they have given him. Lance told them his side of the story and at the same time Shiro filled him in on what he knew. Also he just came out as bisexual to them and he told them about his feelings towards Keith. How he loved Keith more than a friend way or a team mate, in the way were he wanted to take care of Keith for the rest of his life.

"Ok. I'll do it.....Coran what do I need to do?"

"You need to lay down while I hook you up to the monitors. But as soon I hook you up to the last one you will fall into a deep sleep and into Keith's dream. I don't know were it is you will arrive at in Keith's dream, but just look for him once you get there. Keith won't be able to feel your presence, so you have to do everything you can to make him hear you. Oh and Lance be careful you might experience Keith's pain, both emotionally and physically."

"Ok let's do this."

After a few minutes later Lance was almost hooked up completely. And he was scared out of his mind. Not because of the pain he will feel, but mostly because he might fail. What if he fails and isn't able to save Keith and Keith is just stuck in a coma forever.

"Are you ready my boy?"

"Ya...I'm ready."

"Be careful Lance and tell Keith how much we all love him." Shiro said.

"I will. Alright Coran do it."

Coran plugged in the last cable and Lance blacked out. When he woke all he saw was red.
