I woke up to a screeching alarm. I got dressed and headed downstairs with my bag in my hand. My mum, rushing around the house, then handed me a jam sandwich and told me to eat it in the car. After some tedious hours later we finally arrived.

As we went through the gates there was a sign saying 'The Brookland collage.' In big fancy letters. I sighed to myself. My mother, with all her 'motherly powers' placed her hand on my calf, telling me "it'll be alright," and "I'm only a phone call away."

The rest of the day was a blur, I said goodbye to my mother, she cried as I expected. A nice yet ditsy blond lady showed me to my dorm and I was introduced to my four room mates.

"Hi. I'm Ellie!"

One girl who had long, dirty-blond hair said to me before nudging a shy ginger girl next to her.

"I'm- um- Sophie." She said whilst shuffling around. Then a deeper voiced girl said

"the names Alex." before winking at me. She had black hair with glasses on. She then turned to a brunette girl sitting on a bed in the corner. She had her headphones on and was playing on her phone.

"Grace!" Alex said, kicking the side of the bed. Grace just lifted her head at me and nodded in response.

"This is your bed!" Ellie said joyfully, pointing at the bed in between hers and Graces.

I unpacked and went on my phone. It was 12:45am already. Since I only had a jam sandwich for breakfast I was starving.

"Uh, when is lunch?" I asked feebly.

"Oh, whenever you want." Alex mutterd. I raised my eyebrows, not really believing this.

"What she means to say is on weekdays it's anytime between 12 and 2, since it's a weekend it's from half 11 to half 3." I nodded in response before saying I would have lunch then. They all came with me, and we ate lunch together, Alex telling me who was who and pointing out all the cute boys.

We got a table and all sat down. Then all the girls suddenly gasped.

"What?" I asked, worried Incase I had some something wrong.

"It's him!" Grace said. Her eyelids fluttering.

"Uh, who?" I asked, completely confused.

"Skyler.." Alex said dreamily. He's just another heart-throb, They're always just stuck-up liars. I thought to myself, shaking my head.

Suddenly Grace whispered, almost aggressively,

"Here he comes.." And I watched as some kid with dark-brown hair in a quiff came past, he had a tan and dark eyes, which scanned the room as he walked. Then his eyes met mine. He smiled and I quickly looked away, and at my food.

Changing the subject I then quickly muttered

"The food could do with a little salt." But the others couldn't care less as they looked at Skyler, sighing and fluttering their eyelids. As I looked around the room I realised that almost every girl was doing the same thing. Staring at this boy as if he was a piece of meat.
