It was the summer of my junior year of high school, I was ready to become a senior. I didn't have many friends because people always thought I was weird. I lived with my dad at the time because my mother was a drug addict who lived downtown. I remember all the anxiety shes put me threw, one of the reasons kids think I'm weird was because I never talked.
I wasn't an athlete or had any special talents, I was a typical teenager who watched Netflix and loved tanning. I was 17 and born with a lung and heart defect due to my moms abuse during her pregnancy with me. I always wanted to be a runner, however the school didn't want to be responsible if I collapsed or died. Therefore I was denied from all sports. They wouldn't even let me do tennis or golf.
To make up for my loss in athletics I jogged four miles a day in the morning. It never bothered my lungs, but it did hurt my heart. Anyways, I went out on my jog, it started as usual. I always ran by my friend's house, Heather. Heather was a super Christian girl, but her and her family were super nice and ways welcoming. While jogging by Heathers house, I realized that her dad's car was still in the drive way and he hasn't left for work. I slowed down and watched as the windows and lights were still out.
It was strange because they were always up in the morning. I kept jogging, but I grabbed out my cell phone and texted Heather.
Hey, I'm doing my morning jog, want to hang out afterwards?
I continued my jog waiting for a reply. As I was about to pass her house again, I stopped for a moment due to my heart was acting up. I checked my phone and noticed she hasn't texted back, but read my message. I assumed and took the hint, taking a swig of my water bottle from my sweat shirt.
As I ran past her house, I heard a scream. I stopped by skidding my shoes on the ground.
"ANN! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD ANN HELP ME!!" I looked up at Heather's bedroom. She was grabbing the screen and yelling for me.
"Heather what's wrong!" I yelled.
"ANN ! SOMEONE IS IN OUR HOUSE TRYING TO KILL US! THEY BEAT CHRISTI!" she was sobbing beyond relief. "IM LOCKED IN MY ROOM CALL 911!" She screamed.
All of a sudden I heard a bang I her door and she backed against the window. she held her hands out as if to block something.
"No! please! get away! don't kill me! HELP!!!" heathers voice went from a whimper to a straight up shriek.
I fumbled my phone out of my pocket and dialed 911.
The phone rang a few times and then a dispatcher picked up.
"911, what's your emergency?" A man asked.
I was sobbing. "My friend needs help! we need police now!"
"Mam stay calm where is your location?"
I heard typing on the key board.
Before I could even answer, I felt a hand jerk on my hoodie with a lot of force. I fell on my back hitting my head on the road. Over top of me I saw a figure, it was a female, she was bulky and had a grin.
"Don't think you won't sneak up on me hunny." She growled. Looking around she dragged me into Heathers house. I was clawing the ground but slowly I was loosing consciousness.
The last thing I saw was my phone laying in the middle of the road. Broken to pieces from my fall. Then it all faded as I was jerked up the stairs to the house.
