I heard a loud bang.

I shot up out of the cot and looked around. Everything was settled and didn't seem to move. I turned to see if Christi was still in bed. Noting that she was still there, tucked in her sheets, I walked over to her.

"Hey Christi, wake up." I said shaking her shoulders.

No response.

"Christi?"

I peeled away her blanket. Her head rolled off on to the floor. I screamed with horror. Then I heard some one yelling my name. But I couldn't stop screaming.

"Ann!" They yelled

"Go away!" I shrieked back. "stay away from me!"

"Ann wake up!" The voice command.

The vision of Christi's head blurred away. A thin light broke me from the horror and pushed me towards reality.
I felt hands holding me down to the cot, restricting me from flailing.

"GET THE FUCK OFF" I shrieked.

"Ann calm yourself! It's me! Jerry!"

I stopped resisting and focused on his face. He gave a nervous smile. Then I remembered Christi. I turned my head to her cot, she was sitting on it smiling. Rubbing her tired eyes and kicking her legs back and forth.

"It seems your had a night mare. Are you okay?" Jerry asked sitting on the edge of the cot.

I sat up. "Yeah, I guess I'm just still traumatized from Jeanie."

"Well she is locked up in Max right now. She isn't getting near you two ever again. Now take a deep breath and get some rest. Luann will be here to get you." He said, handing me a glass of water.

"Okay thanks." I said sipping the water.

He returned to his office and sat down in front of a computer. Christi looked at me and smiled "I'll sleep with you tonight."

I didn't say anything. I let her crawl in my cot and get comfortable. She close her eyes and instantly fell asleep. Here laid the sweetest child on earth. Not even these events of shock could destroy her.

I thought back to seeing her tied to that chair. Bruised from head to toe, bloody nose, teary eyes. I felt a sudden cringe in my heart as ran my fingers threw her hair.

Looking up at the ceiling I thought about the last few hours. Then I let my body go numb, and then to sleep.

----

She sat in the jail cell, anger burning in her blue eyes. They foiled her plans and let a demon get away. She stared down at her orange clothes. She hated orange, and she hated this cell. Alone.. she was sealed in.

"Soon.." She murmured.

She looked at the clock and smiled. A small crackle broke apart her lips.

"Soon." She said louder.

"SOON!" She yelled.

The image of Jeanie reflected off of the metal walls. Her smile so twisted, her eyes so bright. Fire in her soul.

Soon

She thought.
