Riley was smiling when she woke up the next morning. She had such a lovely evening with William. Well as lovely as it could be with a bar being so full, dark and loud. They had to practically yell into each other's ears to be heard. At 11 o'clock, the music seemed to vibrate with house music so it was hard to even hear your own thoughts. Luckily, Robbie disappeared. Hopefully that would be the last time she saw him. William walked her home. They talked about so many random things like family, books they've read and movies they've seen. He had two sisters and both his parents were still alive. She told him how she was an only child and both her parents had died in a car accident when she was 10. He gave her his sincere condolences. She even saw his eyes tear up. She was raised in a foster home until she was 18 and then she was lucky to find odd jobs to help her through college. He loved Shakespeare and constantly quoted him. She read Shakespeare in high school and college so to find someone else who enjoyed her interests made her giddy inside. Again, he seemed way too perfect.
When they were in the elevator at her apartment she finally asked the dreaded question.
"Are you married?"
His eyes shot up in surprise. "No. If I were, I would be home with her not at a bar talking to you. When I commit myself to someone, its whole heart and soul."
She blushed. "I feel the same way,"
"Did you feel like that with Robbie?" he inquired.
She groaned. He wasn't being arrogant but was seriously asking her. "I thought so but then I had a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach he wasn't the one. He broke my heart. But I'd rather not talk about him anymore. I think he ruined most of our night."
"I wouldn't think so. If not for him, you wouldn't have asked for my help," he gave her another one of his heart warming smiles.
"True. I can't believe I might have to thank him." The elevator doors opened, she led the way as he closely followed. They reached her apartment door. After she unlocked the door, she turned to find him standing directly in front of her. Nervously, she bit her lip.
"I've been curious all night."
She looked up at him quizzically. "About what?"
He leaned over, stopping inches from her face. "On why you insist on biting your lip." Before she could answer, he softly bit her bottom lip with his teeth. Her senses reeled as if short circuited.
"Exactly what I thought, delicious." He licked his lips.
Her breath caught in her throat. She swallowed hard. "Is that all you wanted, just a taste?" She couldn't believe how bold she had become.
His eyebrows lifted in surprise and his mouth curved into a wicked grin. His arms encircled her, one hand in the small of her back, the other cradling the back of her head. His lips slowly descended to meet hers. A slow, drugging kiss at first. She then felt him trace the fullness of her lips. A small gasp made her part her lips where he took full advantage. His tongue thrust in and explored the recesses of her mouth. She returned his kiss with reckless abandon, sinking her fingers in his curls. They were as soft as she had expected. The kiss started sweet and soft but slowly it turned into a smoldering heat that could join metal. A kiss she had never experienced before. It left her weak in the knees and her mouth burning with fire.
When he pulled away, they were both out of breath. William took her hand and kissed her knuckles. "Good night, good night. Parting in such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow." He turned and left.
