Toast ran over to Ghost while I stared in horror at the phantom that had harmed Ghost. He was about Ghost's height with similar features except he had darker hair and a scar that went over his eye. His hair drooped down over his eyes but it wasn't adorable like on Johnny. On the ghost it instead gave off an aura of danger.
"W-Who are you? What do you want?" I asked staring into his dark pitch black eyes.
"Well dear aren't you cute. I can see why Johnny Boy and his lackey brought you with them." He started walking towards me.
I looked back at Toast to see if he could help but he was preoccupied with the gaping wound on Ghost's side.
"I asked you a question." I trembled as the ghost stood before me.
He leaned in close enough for me to feel his cold breath on my cheek, and whispered into my ear, "Don't you recognize me darling? I'm Jimmy Caskett. Do you want to know my secret?"
I gasped in shock and horror, just my luck that the ghost would be him. But how did he get out of Ghost's mind?
"Get away from her Caskett." Ghost coughed and groaned in pain.
Jimmy's gaze swung away from mine as he stared at Ghost, "Oh I'm glad you're not dead Johnny. That wouldn't have been any fun at all."
"Sir, how did he leave your mind?" Toast was staring at Jimmy while he applied pressure to Ghost's wound, his jaw practically touching the floor in shock.
"Oh Toast, loyal little Toast. You won't be able to save your friend there. No matter how hard you try, we all die eventually. And as for your question, when gorgeous here accidentally pulled up that video on her laptop and we were stuck in this realm, I was separated from Johnny and put in the most ghost infested part of this hotel. Not that there are any other ghosts around anymore. Turns out they didn't want to know my secret." Jimmy's grin sent a pang of fear through me that was so strong I almost threw up. "Do you want to know my secret?"
Jimmy moved so quickly and with such predatory grace that I didn't even realize he had moved until I heard Toast gasp in fear. Jimmy was pressing the cold steel of his knife to Toast's throat. Toast eyes widened but they weren't looking at Caskett. They were looking at his bag of gear, laying a few feet to the right of Jimmy.
"Why do you think the elevator wouldn't work after lovely came down all alone? It was like you were giving her to me on a silver platter. I kept the elevator from going back up to get you two because anyone who was able to pull people from other worlds is someone I definitely want to meet. After you and Johnny are dead she'll have no choice but to help me travel between worlds whenever I want. To help me kill whoever I want, or else I will carve up her pretty face. Bye Toast." Jimmy began to press the knife into his neck.
I lunged for the bag and grabbed the first thing I could find. It resembled the device they used in Ghostbusters to suck up ghosts.
"Put the knife down Jimmy." I pointed the device I was calling The Ghostbuster at him.
Jimmy turned towards me, still holding the knife to Toast's throat, "I'd put that down if I were you sweetheart. Don't want to poke somebody's eye out."
"I would listen to her if I were you Jimmy, which I was until today. That thing will suck you into our Ghost Containment System in two seconds flat." Ghost had pushed himself into a sitting position.
"We'll see." Caskett snarled as he leapt at me. I quickly pushed the button on the side of The Ghostbuster and watched in awe as it sucked Jimmy's spirit into a bottle attached to it.
Toast ran over to me and pulled the bottle out of the machine and put a lid on it.
"We did it!" I exclaimed happily and high fived Toast.
"If you two are quite done celebrating I'm kind of bleeding out over here." Ghost complained.
Toast and I rushed over. Toast finished the stitching of Ghost's wound and wrapped it up with gauze, "You'll be fine sir. Don't worry. You just need rest and fluids and you'll be good as new."
"Good. I wouldn't want you to die so quickly to coming to Earth. It gives Earth a bad name. You can rest in the car today."
"Where are we going?" Ghost asked as Toast helped him up.
"Ohio, we're going to see someone who can get you home."
"Who?" Toast asked as we made our way back to the elevator.
"Venturiantale of course."
